    STATE FARM CLASSIC

It seems like I am relying more on recent form than course form for the LPGA tour this year!

    TO WIN OUTRIGHT

PAULA CREAMER 8/1 - "It's hard to stop a train" they say.....and this one is rolling! In her last two outings Creamer has finished T3rd at the Sybase and T2nd just one stroke from 1st at the Corning Classic. She finished that final round in New York with a round of 65 which is 7 under par! On the season she has 4 Top10s in her 8 starts, two of them in her last two starts. She has 3 third placed finishes and 1 second place finish. She is T14th in rounds under par, T20th in birdies, T12th in eagles, 1st in GIR at 82%, 2nd in driving accuracy at 82% and T10th in sand saves. Believe it or not it's her first appearance in the State Farm so I cannot give you anything related to her course form here, but her recent form speaks highly for itself!

SUZANN PETTERSEN 9/1 - She's a sweet swinger who hits with length, power and accuracy! In her last two starts she finished 2nd at the Sybase and T14th at the Corning Classic even though she was -15! She's 1/3 in Top10s at the State Farm and has 5 Top10s on the year. Her stats are pretty consistent where she's 2nd in birdies, 7th in driving average, T10th in GIR at 72%, T12th in eagles, and T12th in rounds under par. I seem to be bucking the trend of course form but can't escape recent form as a huge player on the LPGA tour versus course form.

TO FINISH IN THE TOP 5

MICHELLE WIE 9/2 - An obvious choice if you've watched her play of late. Wie finished T3rd at the Sybase and T26th at -13 in the final Corning Classic. Her opening round of 73 at the Corning dashed her hopes of finishing higher on the leaderboard even though she shot her best 4 rounds on the year (273) which was 5 strokes better than she shot of the Sybase where she finished 3rd! Although she's another golfer with not much success at the State Farm being that she's only played there once, she's T7th in rounds under par, T16th in birdies, T5th in driving average and T6th in putts per green. Could this be the season she breaks out with her first win?!

HEE YOUNG PARK 16/1 - Park is one of this players flying under the radar but has great recent form. She finished T6th at the Sybase and T14th with Pettersen at the Corning Classic. She has 2 Top10s in 9 starts, is T9th in putts per green, T6th in eagles, and T33rd in driving accuracy at 73%. She shot her lowest four round total of the year at the Corning (273), is just in her second year on the LPGA tour and has earned $278,383 ranking in the Top50 of the Rolex Rankings. She was no stranger to success in her rookie season last year with a 9th place finish at the Safeway, T6th at the Evian Masters, and a career best T4th at the Bell Micro.
