  • Strikeforce: Feijao vs Henderson

    Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship
    Rafael Cavalcante (10-2) +145 vs. Dan Henderson (26-8) -175

    Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Championship
    Marloes Coenen (18-4) -400 vs. Liz Carmouche (5-0) +300

    Tim Kennedy (12-3) -300 vs. Melvin Manhoef (24-8-1) +220
    Billy Evangelista (11-0) +110 vs. Jorge Masvidal (20-6) -140
    Roger Bowling (8-1) -280 vs. Josh Thornburg (5-1) +210
    Billy Vaughan (9-6) +325 vs. Jorge Gurgel (13-7) -450
Jason "Jay" Freeman (5-4) +200 vs. Jason Riley (9-5) -260
    Ian Rammel (2-1) +275 vs. Brian Rogers (6-2) -375
Marc Cofer (3-3) vs. Mitch Whitesel (15-20)
    J.P. Felty (0-0) vs. John Kuhner (0-2)

Completely forgot about this fight tomorrow night!! H-bomb!!!!!!!!!!! :beerbang:

Thoughts: Jason Riley looks to be easy money if you want to pay -260 - he outweighs Jay Freeman by about 40 lbs and Freeman hasn't fought in 14 months... Fade Mitch Whitesel if a line comes out - on a five-fight losing streak.

As you guys know, I like underdogs - but Dan Henderson is a favorite of mine. Cavalcante took the title away from King Lawal back in August early in the first round. Lots say Hendo he's over the hill but his "H-bomb" is still prevalent. Also, Hendo hasn't won a title fight in four years - losing to Rampage, Anderson Silvea, and Jake Shields. Cavalcante brutalizes his opponent - finishing his last six wins by strikes, but Hendo has never been knocked out... Cavalcante is an up-and-comer and definitely has youth and explosiveness on his side. Still debating on the dog in that fight, but I don't want to go against my guy. We'll see. Also see some value on Billy Evangelista as a dog. Will post picks tomorrow.

      My plays:

      Marloes Coenen/Roger Bowling/Jason Riley parlay +135

Coenen's scheduled opponent pulled out just last week, Carmouche took this fight on only five days notice, and has only five professional fights in this, her only year of fighting. As I mentioned earlier, Riley is going to come into this fight outweighing Freeman by a ton (40 lbs)!

Rafael Feijao Cavalcante +130 ... The way I look at it - I'm winning regardless. I'm a huge Hendo fan, but doubt most things about him, nowadays, besides his massive right hand. Feijao probably doesn't want to stand with Hendo, but Hendo does well on his back. He'll have to outpoint the H-bomb this fight. Also, getting a champion at an underdog is ideal.

Manhoef looked a lot like Herschel Walker (roids) but got lazy and Kennedy put him away with a rear-naked (or guillotine?)... the women's fight was a shocker, but the favorite pulled out a submission win in the fourth round.

Feijao (and anyone fighting Hendo for that matter) needs to gameplan against the right hand. If anyone watched Hendo/Bisping, the devastating KO power in that hand is unreal. Feijao got hit with it, nailed the mat and Hendo claims the Strikeforce LHW title. Kudos to him.

Ya I heard about Hendo landing his right while I was browsing another fight forum.

I would be playing these MMA events but my local book won't take the plays (not enough action). I haven't done online for a long time...

Might get back into it. Not sure yet.
