curious why?.......X had major problems with BYU's inside and outside game and only BYU's bad defense allowed them to move on. OSU is as stingy as anyone defensively and i don't think X will get many open looks. Lavender won't be blowing by Connolly like he did the stiff that BYU had on him. I think OSU wins this one by DD, but would like to hear your reasoning.

      1. I think OSU is due for a 'bad' game.
      2. Lots of pressure on the young OSU team. X is a veteran team with 4 guys avg in double figs.
      3. The Motta factor....left X to go to OSU....not a big factor but I think it plays with the vet X team.
      4. The line looks too low at first glance.
      5. I did not like the way OSU played in the second half vs. CC
      6. Pub all over OSU.

I think this may be the play of the day tomorrow.

BB- as always i respect your opinion, but i don't think saying someone is due for a bad game is relative or fair. Who are you to determine who is or isn't due for a bad game? And as far as the 2H goes, i watched the game in its entirety and they played an incredible 1H and let down in the 2H, like they always do when they get big leads. That is nothing new, they have been doing so all year long. They get bored and get sloppy. And i think the matta factor can work against X. They may want this one too badly. I think OSU has way too much for X both inside and outside. Personally, i think the Under is the best play in the game by a long shot at 135. Neither team hits 70, IMO. Looking for a 68-58 OSU win. Who said capping a game has to be fair, FF? LOL...BTW, saw you "Nigel whining about OSU not playing X comment....that was a low blow! LOL. The one time OSU plays UC and X in the same year since the 50s and OSU just happens to be STACKED....I'll still whine though...I think OSU should be playing other solid Ohio schools in the regular season. I digress.

Not sure if the "Matta" factor will even be a factor at all with the players. Just with the fans. Miller and Matta are best friends. Only Doellman, Cage and Cole played for Matta during their Elite 8 run 3 years ago. I just think the factor for X's players will be the opportunity to knock off mighty OSU...and I think they are aware that OSU won't schedule any of the better Ohio schools in the regular season...so this is their only shot.

I think OSU probably pulls away for a DD win too...although I could be just setting myself up for the worst and hoping for the best.

One factor that I'm hoping makes a difference today is free throw shooting. X is a very solid FF shooting team....if the game is close, I'm hoping OSU's inexperience can cost them at the line.

I'll be at the game!! Lower bowl tickets a few rows off the floor in the end zone. Leaving in about a half an hour.

GL today guys!!! My stomach is already starting to get queazy. A win for X would be incredible...just hope X doesn't get embarrassed today on national television.

IMO oddsmakers are saying X is the play. A #1 seed opening at only -6 in the 2nd round?

By comparison, Kansas opened at -8 against Kentucky....who in the public's eyes is better than X for sure. I mean I don't know too many average Joe Blows who, if asked "Who is the better team, Kentucky or Xavier?" would answer "Xavier".

You might get a few "What the hell is a Xavier" answers however, lol...and I bet 9 of every 10 would easily say Kentucky.

Same goes for the UNC/Michigan ST game. UNC opens at -10, against a much more well known (and i'm sure better than X in the public's eyes) Michigan St team.

I'm guessing some of this can be attributed to Ohio St not being AS nationally well known as Kansas and UNC, but I still think the oddsmakers figure this to be a down to the wire game, and I'm with Boiler. I'll be taking as many points as the books will give me here.

              You are kidding me, right?

How many games in a row are you expecting DD wins by OSU? Sports teams have surges and dips just like we do (ie good days and bad days). OSU has four straight DD wins. It is hard to keep doing that especially in a pressure packed situation. X has nothing to lose.

This is why people constantly bet faves, because they believe that faves won't have a bad game especially vs an average team.....and they get smoked more often than not.

I agree with your under lean...I like it too, but if you play it you are asking for trouble if you are on OSU as well. In this round, Under and fave plays simultaneously are not going to work.

Thought about adding more to X but I will leave it at 2.

George Mason will be VCUs worst enemy today. You know Pitt will not let it happen, at least they will try. Pitt is much better than Duke and VCU shot the lights out vs. Duke.
