and why is Obama a socialist for wanting to roll back the bush tax cuts and implement the clinton ones back in place when in 2000 John McCain himself opposed the bush tax cuts as it cut out the middle class and only gave the cuts to the wealthy..........now does that make John McCain a socialist for opposing bush's tax cuts in 2000 and now all the sudden anyone who opposes the bush tax cuts (the very one McCain "used" to oppose) is a socialist ...............ah **** it Obama is anti-American and a muslim

after McCain attempts to pick his jaw up off the floor along with the people standing behind him he states "Western Penn. is the most patriotic, God loving part of America" well boys and girls if you don't live there you don't love America and aren't patriotic glad to see johnny mac can now measure each and every one of our levels of patriotism

the book simply states the state of the world with China, Brazil, India and Russia to name a few rising while the US in general is declining in respects of economy, power, influence, etc...

if Americans wish to remain arrogant and fail to address our obvious shortcomings then we will never improve or rebound.

its also just reckless to assume the world revolves around us, after all though we have been, are, and should continue to wield significant influence, someone has to buy our shyt. In respects to the last few years, we have been borrowing from other countries, while exporting our jobs. Thats not anti-American but reality and the fault of both an expansive global economy and competition from foreign countries.

the book ultimately addresses globalization, it does not bash America (according to reviews) and discusses changes in the world in the last couple decades.

        - if Obama was reading this book, who cares? it doesnt mean he's anti-American.

        - if I bought into this Obama is anti-American comments, it should be unsettling but its not going to signal the end of the world. Obama's critics are staunch "pro-America" denizens who proudly and rightfully thump the chest of America's badassness, then if thats the case, how can you truly believe one man will usher socialism, the Muslim religion, and "hip-hop" (I'm speaking in hyperboles but why not everyone else seems to be) culture into Washington and the rest of the country? No way.

        - anyways I still think neither candidate is a good choice but between the logic flaws in attacks against Obama vs. McCain, I find Obama's more extraneous.

        - If Bush was pictured reading a biography of Hitler, does that make him Fascist?

LOL then again if Bush was pictured reading a book, we should rejoice

in fact to try to see both sides (objectivity) of this one point, the book's biggest critics cite that the flaws of the author are that his sources, subject matter and such were too broad and some of the content came off like he knew little about America although most of the main idea of the book was addressing the rise of the world vs. the decline of America. Economically, and politically.

you can argue whether America is in decline til we're all blue in the face, but in staying to this point about a man carrying around a book in a photo meant to demonstrate his flawed patriotism, its irrelevant when the book does not seem to even skim on that point.

          - as for whether America is in decline, our dwindling influence (ex: Putin and Russia's grandstanding in the face of the US by stomping all over one of our allies), and dwindling economy (no need to elaborate on this) are proof enough. On the other spectrum, we are still so influential that our slumping economy can and is dragging other countries economy down with it also. So we DO matter.

It's up to us to rebound. with or without Obamccain, thats right I fused both names together because they're both the same to me lol.

          - Honestly its hard to argue against Obama when you have Buffet and Powell in your corner, if you diehard McCain supports want to surmise that he brainwashed them, so be it, but thats some mighty strong brainwashing to sway the richest man in the world, and the most influential military mind for the GOP in the last 20 years.

                then why post it? lol

and its not just a post of Obama, the pic zooms in and highlights the book up close.

                - you mention if JMac is reading a book, you'd make a better argument to say if he's reading THE book, seeing as the perceived point of the picture is to display Obama holding a "questionable" book while JMac's mug is blended with the statue of liberty and the american flag in the background.

why shy away from the intended focus of the post? Obama carrying "anti-american" book vs. McCain draped in R B and W? lol

                that was my retort.

Sorry. That is a good point though.

                        Given:

                        a) those two pics lined up side by side were the only pictures "you" the outsider looking in with a vengeance would see.

                        b) you did not read the book, "The Post American World" (like me lol) and assumed it was a slander on all things American.

then yes all dem Anti-American people out for vendetta would def. choose Obama in all honesty because they think they have an "ally" in the White House.

Thats a solid point given the premise that outsiders could vote for Obama.
