Curious what makes you like Cuse...They have only played two road games and were pretty brutal at Seton Hall. The other was their home away from home at the Garden. with no Joseph just curious what makes you think they can stay with Pitt at the zoo?

I did not see anything definitive that Joseph would not play when I capped the game.....I still think it's going to be a close game if Cuse can speed things up. As yet, their bench is really untested, but they are game for the big time.

This is what I saw from from the Cuse web site......"If Kris Joseph can’t play tonight due to his head injury, it will mark just the fifth time in the last four years that a Syracuse player has missed a start because of an injury." Today I find that he did not make the trip! Oh well, a card laid is a card played.

          Who's hot

Rick Jackson has had a double-double in each of SU’s last two games. He’s recorded 11 double-doubles this season.

          Prime matchups:

          Shooting guards

          Pitt -
          12-Ashton Gibbs, Jr., 6-2, 190
Their leading scorer, but he rarely forces anything. He’s very strong. He can shoot the three or drive to the basket and take contact.
          Cuse -
          20-Brandon Triche. So., 6-4, 205
Triche is really becoming the shooting threat Syracuse needs at the two-guard position. He’s averaging 12.4 points in SU’s five Big East games.

          Point guards

          Pitt -
          22-Brad Wanamaker, Sr., 6-4, 210
Very underrated point guard. He’s big, protects the ball and has great assist-to-turnover numbers. He doesn’t shoot a lot, but don't just leave him open.
          Cuse -
          11-Scoop Jardine, Jr., 6-2, 190
Jardine will have to use his size, strength and experience to handle Pittsburgh’s defensive pressure. He has 16 turnovers in the last three games.

          Small forwards

          Pitt -
          5-Gilbert Brown, Sr., 6-6, 215
Super athlete. A slasher-type who has really improved his 3-point shooting.
          Cuse -
          43-James Southerland, So., 6-8, 205
Southerland will likely make his first career start in the Orange's toughest game of the season if Joseph is a no-go.

          Power forwards

          Pitt -
          35-Nasir Robinson, Jr., 6-5, 220
Typical Pittsburgh guy. A blue-collar, undersized four. He’s not a great shooter and gets a lot of his points off the offensive glass.
          Cuse -
          00-Rick Jackson,Sr., 6-9, 240
With his 15 points and 11 rebounds against Cincinnati, Jackson is now averaging 11.4 points and 11.4 rebounds in Big East games.

          Centers

          Pitt -
          52-Gary McGhee,Sr., 6-11, 250
Strongest guy in the Big East. Just huge, especially his arms. They don’t look to get him the ball much, but he takes up so much space.
          Cuse -
          51-Fab Melo, Fr., 7-0, 244
Melo made significant contributions, especially in his 11 second-half minutes against Cincinnati. He’ll really be tested tonight against Pitt’s big, physical frontline.

          Pittsburgh bench
Travon Woodall can come in and speed up the game and he’s a pesky defender. Speed up the game is what Cuse may try to do in order to wear down the Panthers bigs.

Syracuse may not have Joseph but they still have Jardine. Line has been adjusted and Syracuse is catching more points I think

Look for Jardine to have a big game.

Cuse will find a way to keep it close. No worries Joepa!!
