Record: 30-24
Tournament record: 3-2
No play yesterday in the forum, just relied on the play in my article
Also, I should have mentioned in case anyone didn't notice - I had a boxing play yesterday.
Boxing is my largest unit size.
Boxing is the reason I ended up staying in Vegas for 10 years or so. Went for a 6-month prolonged vacation to catch a couple bouts, fell into the gig at the sports book I ended up running, and got a gig working for Ring Sports magazine - ringside seats in exchange for writing a column on the fight. It's what led to my radio guest spots on Fox and a few other stations, and other fun opportunities.
I don't do a lot of boxing bets anymore, the sport lost me as a fan because of all the watered down titles, crooked alphabet organizations in charge, and not enough quality matches (and they want you to buy them on pay-per-view.)
But I had one last night, shared it here, and did round by round updates in the boxing forum section.
Hope someone saw it and rode with me.
Got a couple things to choose from today, including an asterisk spot on a WF (Wrong Fav.)
These have been gold for a while now, though leveled out in NBA.
College postseason they have a record of 1-2.
Today, WF2 says that Oregon should be the Fav.
WF2 is 13-17 postseason (has St Mary Cal, New Mexico, Kent State, and Oregon today.)
WF1 is 12-6 (has one spot today, Ark St) and when it disagrees with WF2 on who should be the Fav and I get a point differential of 5 or > it qualifies as an asterisk spot.
Taking this play means I have to bet against the Ducks, who won for me in round one and saved me from that 0-3 day.
I like to stick with teams that win for me, and don't like going against them, BUT... from yesterday's post:
"I have one of those WF2 spots today, McNeese State. The Cowboys were good to me in round one, banking me a unit, and I kind of feel like Benedict Arnold going against them today."
So I didn't bet against McNeese out of some twisted sense of loyalty and what happened?
Purdue beats them by 14 points and I missed out on banking a unit!
Not making that mistake again.
