Recruiting doesn't concern me too much considering my dawgs have the #2 class this year(behind notre dame which I don't buy for a second), and have had a top 10 class(most often top 5) every year since Richt arrived. As BO knows, the SEC teams kinda stick together, because when it comes down to it, the media often screws us. Just ask Auburn 2004.Comment

They are arch enemies, but since in CFB the SEC is hands down the toughest conference to play in you have to root for the conference as a whole, because of all the other things that go into ranking teams and where the go in bowls i.e the NC game. Hence why this is the first time that a 2 loss team went played in the NC game. LSU got there because they come from the toughest conference, you would never see a 2 loss team from any other conference get this shot. I actually hate all the teams in the SEC, except GA, I just dislike them alot, but with all they hype for any SEC school to have a chance at the NC we need to do well as a whole unfortunately. As for rooting for a team that we are recruiting against, yes another SEC school winning the NC game makes it tough, but it not only sheds light on our competitors but the strength of the SEC which helps recruiting on the larger scale. It is those who have a team in the other conferences that dont understand this because the other conferences are typically made up of one or 2 teams and they will get a shot based on that strength alone, this is why OSU is a preseason top 5 every year because they dont play anybody and W's and L's for whatever reason matter. This is why we need a playoff system!Comment

Fortunately that wont happen again!The only teams getting screwed in the future will be those of the lesser conferences, because now we know after 2 straight years of watching the best of the best from the Big "1" make it to the NC game and getting thumped and the best of the best from the SWC...uh I mean Big 8, 12 whatever.. making it to the BCS and getting pounded it is a mute point. This is why HW and BSU can go undefeated every year and never get a shot, how tough your conference is actually matters. Of course I pound on the week Big "1" because it is right there in conference strength with the WAC et. al...look at what the 2nd best team, did in the rose bowl. As I have said bowl games to me dont really dictate the team and their abilities , but Illi was very motivated and we know OSU was motivated the last 2 years it is just that they play nobody and get respect for playing nobody. The Olkihomies, and OSU's would be the 4th-5th best team in either side of the SEC, this is not an assumption but a fact. I wish it were not the case, as I would like more parity in the other big conferences, being this would put less pressure on the big dogs in the SEC:beer2:Comment

dude- your chest thumping for the SEC is getting annoying...lol.... first of all, the analogy that anyone would be the # anything team in another conference is moronic. They would have a different recruiting base and have a different team makeup. It's not easy to get kids from Alatucky and Looziana to come play football in Ohio. So to make that analogy is moronic. If AUB played in the Big10, they would have a decidedly different looking roster.
I agree with nitts and others about the whole conference thing....i mean really.....if i didn't know better, it's like your whole persona or self value revolves around the "SEC" in football. Your team hasn't sniffed a BCS game but once, so quit gravy training the successes of others in that conference. I mean the peach bowl is practically your home.....lol....
Congrats to LSU!....SEC is a the best and a great football conference and very entertaining. In the end, why as it was said, anyone really cares how good their conference is is just dumb. I mean it's 2 days later and you're still at it.....i dont' get it Bo...i really don't. And no im not bitter....disappointed in the result yes, but in the end, so what........it isn't going to change my life one way or the other.
