College football is finally upon us once again. Like all my other sports I will be using the same rating system that I do. Here we go!!
College football is scary the first few weeks because you just don’t know what you are getting. All you have to go by is returning players and what you have read about each team. But I also believe there are many lines in the beginning that may be off.
2* Hawaii +20 (-110) vs California……………….I was tempted to make this a 3*, but being the first game I chickened out. I wanted more than a 1*, so a compromised and went with a 2*.
California has no returning QB and 4 offensive/6 defensive starters returning. Hawaii has their QB back, even though he sucked last year and 9 offensive/8 defensive starters. If this game were at Cal it might be a different story. Playing in Australia I think can only help the underdog. I am counting on Cal’s defense to suck again and let teams stay within the number this year. So my numbers and my gut feeling say Hawaii loses by less than three touchdowns.
1* Over 66.5 Hawaii/California………………….Throwing this in because I love to bet and it is the first game. I know California will get their share and I am pretty sure Cal’s defense will give up their share, but I generally have not had luck with totals in football, so just one unit for me.
PREDICTION: California 44 Hawaii 27
