How do I add an avatar to my posts?

I went to the "edit avatar" screen, but I am unable to uncheck the "do not use avatar" box. Any help is appreciated.

Please go to the above link. We do not allow users to do their own avatars, mostly to prevent people from putting up naked pictures of their wifes (unless good looking, then we will consider on case by case basis), pictures that offend even this wily crowd, or other pictures that could get us into legal trouble.
