I have yet to see a terrible Coen brother movie. OK, maybe Barton Fink...but other than that one, you've got Blood Simple, The Hudsucker Proxy, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou....those are all quality movies, IMHO.

The Coen brothers don't make your standard plot type of movie...they have their own thing going on...but what they do, they do really well.

My buddy said No Country For Old Men is their best movie to date...and that's saying something. He thought it was the best movie he's seen in the last couple of years.

Can't wait to check it out.

Another good flick! Longish at times but a great story and some incredible acting by Denzel and Crowe! I would definitely recommend AG as well!

The thing about NCFOM is Jones! The other actors do quality jobs but its Jones who carries the film from start to finish!

This type of aggression will not stand, man! :beer2:

I'm very excited to see this flick, & I'm hoping to catch it tomorrow. The Coen Brothers are up there with Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry, Tarantino as my favorite directors of all time. It's been a while since I've been excited about going to see a movie... there's so much garbage out there. I've only gone to the movies about 4 times in the past year!

I went over to IMDB and saw that the Coen's have another movie coming out next year called "Burn After Reading." It stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand. The plot line reads as follows...."A disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees who attempt to sell it."

Is there any chance that a Coen movie with that cast and plot line won't be pure gold?

Do you like sex, Mr. Lebowski?
                          Excuse me?
Sex. The physical act of love.
                          Coitus. Do you like it?
I was talking about my rug.
                          You're not interested in sex?
                          You mean coitus?

And NO, with a cast like that, and the Coen bros writing the script, it WILL be pure gold...

I heard not only is it bad, that it's unwatchable. Kinda interested now just because of all the varying opinions.

The people that thought it was terrible probably have an extensive Schwarzenegger collection. lol. I've talked to 4 or 5 friends, and it is the best movie they have seen in years they say. Maybe you have to be a Coens fan? It's called brilliant dialogue, and quirky characters. Love mostly all of their stuff. I know I'm going to love this too, as Fargo and Lebowski are easily two of my alltime favs. Barton Fink. Hudsucker Proxy. Raising Arizona. Miller's Crossing. All pretty good stuff too, IMO.
