OMG I was gonna say the same thing, but then didn't wanna come across sounding like an ass, lol. I've been a MAC user for the last few years and couldn't be happier. They may be more expensive, but as they say, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and that couldn't be more true in this case.

      Windows 7, LMFAO

In any case, if they want $71 (I assume you mean the "makers" of this pop up blocker), AND it won't even let you shut down your computer or remove it in the remove programs menu, I would ASSUME it's not a pop up blocker, but a virus (something we MAC users DON'T get, ever).

With that being the case, what I would try is to restart the computer in safe mode and try removing the program. Just push the power button and turn it off (i know this can be unsafe, but not really if you have everything already saved, closed, and shut down, any external drives safely shut down and disconnected, etc).

So I think each computer is different, but usually you hold a key like F5 or ESC or something while the computer is restarting to get the computer into safe more after turning it off with the power button or just plain pulling the plug (maybe someone can help here with how to get the computer into safe mode). Once in safe mode, go into add/remove programs and remove whatever it is you need to get out.

Keep in mind, this may not work if it's a virus, and you may have to actually find the .exe file that is causing the problem, which is a real pain in the ass and at which point, unless you have some computer knowledge, you might as well take it to a shop and have them do it, back up all your files and reinstall lovely windows, or just throw the thing out in the street, let it get run over by a big truck, and buy a MAC.

      Hopefully this helps

I didn't intend to come off as a jackass, and I hope I didn't Yomonte, but seriously, I don't understand why people continue to put up with all of the **** that PCs and Windows makes you go through all the time.

With a Mac you open the box, plug it in and you're done. Period. No viruses, no Y2K, no security patches, no downloading of drivers for printers or perifferials. No hassles.

I've owned Macs since 1993 and out of four of them, I've had a problem once. And that time it wasn't my fault, or a virus, or anything. It was a defective hard drive and logic board (about a year after I bought it), which Apple replaced with no questions asked for $400 (shipping/labor included). I basically got a new computer, essentially.

My brother and cousin both used to be Mac users and had to switch for work purposes ... and complain all the time and wish they could go back.

As Stiff said, its a little pricey at first. But when you add in all of the IT charges you incur getting your PC fixed twice a year, it is actually a better deal than a PC, IMO.

Go get yourself a mid-priced MacBook Yo, and kiss your computer problems goodbye for the next 10 years (when you'll need to upgrade to a new Mac again).

                  LOL

I have a Mac, I like it... no complaints. No offense to Stif, but I think the reasoning behind that "no virus" for Macs, is because although Macs are popular somewhat, they don't have the mass reach or use of Windows/PCs in general. Hence, people don't even bother with making viruses for Macs lol, I could be wrong but thats the way I see it.

I liken it to bagging that "plain" looking girl that never gets STDs, mainly because no one bothered to give her any LOL

OK bad example because Macs look more sexy than PCs, but if you invest in a Mac its worth it. Especially as ipods and iphones run seamlessly on it. They purposely fck up those itunes for windows so you get so frustrated you end up buying a Mac. After all in this day and age, ipods and iphones take precedence right?

Well that could be right, but mac's take measures with their OS to prevent spyware/adware/viruses too, like how you have to enter your password before installing something. Programs (viruses/adware/spyware) can't just be "put" on your computer without you knowingly installing them.

Windows is, and always will be a **** and unstable OS too. It's not actually the PC itself that is the problem, but the OS that is running on it, Windows. My mac has never frozen, other than the little pizza causing me to close ONE program, which ironically is usually AOL, the worst program on the planet.

I don't get those little annoying ass pop ups from down where the clock is (on a PC) every 5 minutes saying i need to install something, update my virus protection, activate my firewall, or check for viruses/spyware/adware automatically. I swear every time I am forced to do something on my GF's PC and that **** keeps coming up I just wanna throw it the **** out the window. I tried turning if off, but apparently windows does not agree and it just keeps coming on. And it's not viruses, but a PART OF WINDOWS....that needs to keep coming up on its own because Bill Gates realizes we're all retards and need our hands held in using/maintaining our computers.

I'll tell you this....I have owned probably in the neighborhood of 8 Windows based PC's in my lifetime. After a year (AT THE MOST) they were all on the verge of taking a ****. I reinstalled Windows (countless versions on countless PC's) so many times I can't remember, bought a few different versions of antivirus software and firewalls, PC health fixers (for lack of a better term....programs that "clean up" the PC of adware/spyware/viruses), have downloaded numerous spyware/adware removal tools from the net to fix **** that was going haywire, and every time finally ended up going out and getting a new PC (dumb), until this last time when I said no more (bought a brand new Gateway and it was acting up less than 1 yr after I got it) and I went and got my IMac. Nothing special. Spent about $1600 for the entire thing (as compared to probably $1200 or so for a comparable PC) and 3 years later (this xmas), not a single whisper of a problem from this MAC.

Haven't spent a dime to even upgrade it other than buying an external HD to keep all my garbage backed up on.

Easily upgraded to Leopard too without any hassles, and I think maybe twice I had to actually go on the net to download something to make something I wanted to use work on my mac. One was actually a program to make my mac read/write to NTFS file system (completely unnecessary unless you want to write to an external HD that is formatted Windows NTFS, which I obviously did....but have since just reformatted to Apple HFS+ on that drive), and I got a version of Windows Media Player for some movie DL's that just wouldn't play otherwise. That's about it though. Basically everything I have wanted to use has either been completely Mac compatible, or has had a Mac version.

So while you may be right to an extent, certainly OS X is a far better OS than Windows (name your version), and the myth that Mac's are harder to use or are incompatible with everything is just that, a myth.

I just realized I sounded really computer geeky there, lol, but honestly, I wish someone had explained to me years ago how much better (and easier) my computer life would be if i would just go spend the few extra bucks and get a Mac, before I went out and pissed away thousands on PC's and their garbage OS Windows.
