  • Tiger Woods is an egotistical scumbag

Ok, so Tiger goes out and bones a bunch of broads, cheats on his wife, has a crisis etc.

It's pretty obvious that he brought this all on himself. Nobody should feel sorry for this guy.

SO, he starts losing advertisers. The first to dump him is accenture.

So what does Tiger do? He schedules a press conference during the start of the Accenture sponsored tournament, which will undoubtedly divert many golf fans attention during the Accenture sponsored event

Talk about a head game power play and a spit in the face of all the golfers that are participating in this week's tournament.

Think about it. Why did he have to come out and have his press conference now? Why not Monday or some other day?

Simply put, Tiger is a self absorbed piece of **** that doesn't give a flying **** about his wife, the game of golf, his peers etc . ONLY HIMSELF.

    Your take?

Well, I actually think this is one time where he doesn't want the spotlight on him. I don't know what his plan for coming back is but atleast with the weekend coming up it will get passed over more by talk radio and casual fans than if it happened on a Monday. And their is a golf tournament that is pretty good going on that might take some of the attention off him.

If they did this on Monday it would be the only thing on ESPN for the entire day or two. And it is Accenture's tourney but they are getting plenty of advertising out of people talking about Tiger trying to screw them so I don't know if that was his plan, if it is really working.

Frankly, I'm surprised this PR conference is the tipping point to where you finally call him an ego-maniac scumbag.

Tiger Woods' whole life has been about ego. And I would argue he's been a scumbag for a while now.

...the ego that he can curse, smash clubs and do whatever on the PGA course because the PGA needs him more than he needs it. How about that ego?

...the ego that he and he goon caddie can move people (i.e. fans, the same people that pay his salary), scream at them to shut up, shoot dirty looks at them if they dare take pictures, or even swipe and smash their cameras. How about that ego?

...and the ego continues all the way up to the point that he thinks he can slip off into the bathroom with a cocktail waitress, get a little dome, then not think he'll get caught. HE'S F-ING TIGER WOODS!! You better believe she's wiping her chin, straightening out her dress and then going out to tell the world she just swallowed Tiger's swimmers. Once or twice is a slip up, a dozen or so times is flat-out ego that he's bulletproof.

Now he's caught. His image is gone. Now, finally, everyone is leveling him off to where he's being treated like the rest of the PGA folk or (gasp!) common folk and he's reacting how? .... With Ego!

Let's call a presser the same day as the tourney by those guys who dropped me. I'm not buying its coincidence, nothing this big is by coincidence. Oh, and how does he handle the "coming out" presser? With ego. He's only allowing a few (selected) media members in the actual room with him, the rest of the media has to go to an "overflow" room at the Sheridan miles down the road via live video feed. How many hard questions are gonna be asked now?

I don't feel sorry for anyone involved except for his kids. Elin should have known better ... he's Tiger Woods, once a cheater always a cheater and she had ample warning ahead of time he was a womanizer.

He's a jag. IMO always has been. He's still a great golfer, probably the best I'll ever see, and I admire his skills at hitting the little white pill. But he's nothing more or nothing less than that. Period.

Is he supposed to be something more than a golfer? I like him because he is amazing at his craft. I don't care if he bangs 50 waitresses every month. There was a time in my life I would have done the same thing if I was TIGER WOODS. It isn't his job to cater to the fans when he is competing. A little respect needs to come both ways and most fans don't give a **** about bothering pros either.

And why does he need to hold a big no holds barred presser? He doesn't owe the media anything. He is a golfer. Hey, if he is a good guy like Jeter he will make more money but for Tiger that really isn't an issue.

I agree with you Franchise, he is just a golfer and nothing more and should be treated as such. But the reality is that a combination of factors (his own PR/Marketing team, his own ego/arrogance, ESPN and other media) created this monster that is now out of control.

Hell, if he farts on the driving range hitting a small bucket of balls, ESPN is breaking into their coverage on 3 of their 5 networks to announce it.

I, personally, don't hold him up to extra standards because I don't do that to athletes (or celebrities either). I also agree with one of your earlier points, that he's doing it on Friday so half of the golfing world is Arizona and not around to ask questions.

I was only trying to point out how he's all about ego, and how his (his PR team's) handling of all of this is no different now that he's not the squeaky-clean Mr. Perfect he and his PR team have worked so hard to shove down everyone's throats.

Now, he's nothing more than Paris Hilton who can stick a 1-iron. Stare out the window at the car-wreak that is Tiger's life now if you want, but I for one won't be. The problem is the PGA and Tiger are probably finding out that more people care less (like me), than care, so they're scrambling to salvage what then can of their golden egg.

I also got a kick out of the fact that the reporters who will be present at the press conference where HAND PICKED by Tiger. (So nobody will insult him or ask him questions that will make him look like ****)

Badger: I've always thought he was a cocky a-hole. His treatment of people in "the gallery" and the tantrums he throws is similar to how my baby act when you turn off dora the explorer and tell then it's time to go to bed.

When I heard that he was "coincidentally" doing is presser to possibly take a shot at his ex sponsor (accenture, who was irconically the 1st company to drop his ass) it just really made me furious.

I dont usually bother with the drama/personal **** that goes on in sports, but this is beyond pompous so I had to vent about it.

He is indeed a great golfer.

Speaking of woods, I have a buddy who is in the film industry that says there are multiple porns coming out with titles similar to "Tiger Woods; In 18 holes" LOL

I don't get why people care so much about this story. I don't find it surprising at all that he cheated. The bottom line is that it's his private life. He messed up his marriage and he can try to fix it (if he wants) privately.

Mike Tirico said that people will think of the Tiger Woods press conference as one of those moments that you will remember forever. Where you were, what day it was type thing like landing on the moon or 9/11. I think that is an idiotic comment and I won't even remember he held a press conference 10 years from now.

Read Tom Watson's comments on him from a couple of weeks ago and that is all you need to know about him.

I could care less about his Perkins Waitresses across america tour honestly. As an avid golfer i can't stand his ass hole behavior on the course (and no he is not "just a competitive guy"...once again read what Tom Watson had to say).

I am really surprised that Gatorade dumped him. I would have thought they would have used this to their advantage. Can you imagine "waitressaide"...and the marketing campaign behind that.....i mean when you've nailed 3 denny's hostesses and a cocktail skank in a 4 hour period, your body loses tons of electrolytes.....waitressaide with it's powerful balance of minerals and electrolytes keeps you going and helps you recover allowing you to forge ahead with more hostesses and cocktail skanks.......

Funny thing is that the guy is mostly popular with non-golfer watercoooler guy who thinks it's cool to be a tiger guy. Most people that golf for a serious past time can't stand the guy.

but in the end i could care less. as Denny Green said....."they are who we thought they were"....

God-given talent and a like-able personality are mutually exclusive.

I couldn't care less what he did to his family/wife, this sort of stuff happens all the time, I can understand who it happens to naturally draws interest.

But in the end, I appreciate the raw talent, and seeing it on TV/Live, whatever.

Jordan, Woods, Ovechkin, Griffey Jr., Sampras, etc... to name a few; many if not all were at one point labeled as a Grade A *******.

Whether or not that's valid is irrelevant, these guys are great at what they do, and honestly if I or any of us "Joes" had this talent, it would invariably feed that God-Complex.

Hell I'd be disappointed if it didn't. You can't be humble, like-able and accomplish the things Jordan/Woods did with their attitudes. Go for the throat!

I'm not an avid golfer, but I can see/appreciate how damn hard it is to win one tournament, let along 14 major championships; the concentration, focus, skill and luck just to win.

He may be an ass, but all of that is coming back to bite him in the ass monetarily and matrimonially. Otherwise, he's not my friend/family, I just want to see him golf!
