    GM's MLB Divisional Plays

I dont care if I am a Phils fan. The best play on the board Wednesday is the Fightin Phils. Jeff Francis has been knocked around by the Phillies in two starts. 8.1 innings pitched, he has allowed 20 hits and 14 runs in the process. Cole Hamels will face the Rockies for the first time in his career on Wednesday. He should pitch a great game like always. A 3pm start should benefit him even though he has better numbers at night. His amazing changup will be close to unhittable in the shadows at Citizens Bank Park. If you like the Phils to win this series, you have to jump all over this game.

    Wednesday Plays:

    Philadelphia Phillies -144 (1 unit)

    Boston RL +130 (1 unit)

    Arizona -135 (1 unit)

I also like Boston and Arizona but will wait to make plays on those games to see if my mind changes on any. I will probably take the Phillies Over 4.5 runs when it becomes available.

    GL Everyone

I am going to be on the Phills in a big way tomorrow as well, Hamels looked very sharp his last time out and Citizens Bank is going to be even crazier tomorrow afternoon...Rockies were forced to throw 10 innings out of their bullpen last night so they are going to need big things out of Francis and the Phillies have flat out hit this guy and the Phillies are the type of team that gets better when they see a pitcher more than once and they rocked him twice and I have the feeling the bats are gonna have some pop in it for the 3rd time tomorrow...should be awesame tomorrow, LETS GO PHILLIES
To A Phillies World Series :beerbang:

Flyers and Eagles --- its your turn:beerbang:

    1 unit=25 dollars
2 units=50, etc.. and so on

I am so excited for this game. It has been 14 long years but it has been worth the wait at 3pm on Wednesday. I might add more on the game depending how I do on the football game tonight.

      LETS GO PHILLIES!!!

not wanting to clog up the thread, but IMO, the 10 innings the Rox bullpen pitched is only really a factor in this series for Herges and Bucholtz for this first game. they had on off day today and no one out of the Rockies pen with the excpetion of Herges and Bucholtz went longer than 1 inning.
Hamels is very very suseptable to the long ball as well, and the Rockies sure can hit the long ball. I dunno, IMO it's a Rox play or nothing at all as the Rockies are clearly the hotter/better team right now. The Phillies run down the stretch was a great story but was it really that impressive? IMO it's more of Mets collapse than the Phillies deserving to get in. beating up on a Nats team at home (which they only managed to win 2 of 3 in must win games), and beating up on the reeling Mets?

regardless, it's probably the series i'm most looking forward to. GL on your plays...

I would not say the Rockies are clearly the hotter AND better team right now.

Phillies were 13-4 down the stretch while the Rockies were 14-1. Remember, the Phillies took care of business against a tough Washington team that played excellent down the stretch. The Phillies also managed to beat Tim Hudson AND John Smoltz, two of the best pitchers in baseball this year

Remember, during that stretch where the Rockies went 14-1, they played a Dodger team 8 times down the stretch. That team gave up long before the Rockies played them.

If you want to talk about the Mets collapsing allowing the Phillies to get in, you have to mention how San Diego collapsed down the stretch letting the Rockies get in. It isnt fair to just say the Phillies didnt deserve to get in and the Rockies did.

Cole Hamels hasnt allowed a home run in his last four starts and his three starts before that, he has only allowed two home runs. May and June he struggled with the long ball (25 hrs allowed this year and I think probably 20 of them are solo home runs). I dont think anyone can fade Cole Hamels because he gave up the long ball too much three months ago.

Oh well, the Rockies are a feel good story and I think thats why a lot of people are going to take them to win this series but I cant see it happening. When you combine Hamels for game 1 and possibly 5 and then groundball pitcher Kyle Kendrick in game two, the Phillies finally have the pitching advantage in a series, though I am not sure if they need it with their lineup.

          GL with your plays Hoosier.

Will get my total either tonight or tomorrow.

                  Friday:

                  Cleveland +119 (1 unit)

                  Boston -142 (1 unit)

It would be something if every series was 2-0 but I think its gonna happen.

If anything, I am going down with the chip tonight. Too much value on the Phillies for me to pass up.

                    Phillies +132 (1.5 unit)

Will update my record sometime this weekend:thumbs:

Finally, the totals are in. If Philly could have won one game, it would have been a real nice week.
