Well as far as I see it, it certainly can't hurt to bring him in. His numbers are probably as bad as they are because he wasn't seeing much to hit alot of the time in Oakland cause he was so often batting with nobody on base, and no real legitimate threats behind him unless you count Jason Giambi and his sub .200 average, lol. If I'm the Cardinals, I still don't know if i trust guys like Joel Pineiro and Kyle Lohse to win big playoff games for me though. Carpenter is of course a true ace, and Wainwright has good stuff and has positive world series experience since he was the closer the year they won it all, but I just don't know that I trust those other 2 guys to get it done for me in the post season. Then again, they won it all the other year by riding Jeff Weaver, lol. Dave Duncan is a great pitching coach, so anything is possible i guess....

As far as the sportsbook question from the other day, you live in Canada, don't you? If so, then Pinnacle is a total no brainer for every sport. By far the best book anywhere. Before Pinny closed down to Americans, I mostly used them and Sports Interaction. SIA has the best dog lines, bar none....and more importantly, they don't "peg" you as a certain type of player and adjust lines to go against your betting habits. With those 2 books, I never really needed another book for football/basketball. I will admit though that SIA uses 15 cent lines for baseball, and usually you'll pay quite a bit more there for favorites, especially if it's a more public side.

Other books I really like for baseball are Sportsbook.com and Bet Jamaica, and honorable mention to 5 Dimes. All 3 of those books are fine for football or basketball too as far as I' concerned. All 3 of those seem to have more "mainstream" lines, not really shaded in either direction.

Bet Jamaica has dime lines up to -190, which is cool, and 5 Dimes has overnight 5 cent lines, so sometimes there's value to be had there if you like to get in early. Sportsbook.com is just solid and pretty much right down the middle with their lines.

I've never had a problem with a payout at any of those books, contrary to what some people think of SIA. I have only good things to say about them from my personal experience there, which goes back a good 6 to 8 years, somewhere in there.

But, if you're not one to split money amongst 3 to 5 books, which i assume most aren't, I would without a doubt go with Pinnacle first and then Sports Interaction second. It really gives a nice variation in the lines. You'd find that you're almost always getting the best of the line between the two of those books....at least I did.

If I'm mistaken and you're not in Canada, then I'd probably use Sports Interaction and either Sportsbook.com, Bet Jamaica or 5 Dimes.

Personally, I am using Sportsbook.com right now for baseball, and will be using both them and Sports Interaction come football season. I was going to use Bet Jamaica for baseball this year, but I found it was more of a hassle to deposit there than Sportsbook.com, and really sportsbook.com's lines were very competitive with anyone else out there, so i went with them.

Wow, sportbook.com rejected you? That's weird.

Consider yourself lucky that you can still use Pinnacle, imo. If you're looking to use only one book, I would definitely use them without a second thought.

At least the Flubs offense showed up today against Harangatang after that homer :beerbang:
