  • Hump Day MLB Pick

    YTD: 44-36-1 +14.21 Units

    Taking:

St. Louis Cardinals -180.(Risking 5.40 to win 3)

Miami is incredibly cold right now having only scored one run or less in five of their last six games.

Making his first Major League appearance for the Marlins will be Jordan Yamamoto. I watched some film on this guy and was not impressed to say the least. He appeared to lack command, stands too upright which creates too many balls up in the zone (which should get crushed). In order to get the ball down in the zone, a pitcher has to finish low. His issues should be compounded by the fact that he has average velocity.

He's simply not ready to be brought up and the Marlins are only doing so because Urena is out with an injury and this was the guy in the system who currently is coming off four days rest. There are better pitching prospects in the Fish's system, this guy just happened to be fresh. Making the jump from Double A to the bigs should prove to be a huge mistake.

Yamamoto is the Marlin's 17th rated prospect. That should tell you all you need to know right there.

Despite the big ballpark, we should see some dingers out of STL bats tonight.

Bewildering! Cards can't hit 85mph pitching!
