Back from a long weekend holiday at a cottage in Muskoka...missed alot of bases this weekend...lots of games today catch my eye...
Angels -120 (Lackey) vs Tigers - 2 Units
They don't come more solid than Lackey, who's held teams under 3 runs 8 of 9 starts. Maroth coming off some kind of viral infection, hasn't pitched in 11 days and might be on a pitch count...Angels also hit lefties well.
Blue Jays +100 (Burnett) vs Orioles - 2 Units
AJ has been one of the hottest pitchers in MLB the past month, including a 3 hit CG against these same O's last start. He has 30 strikeouts in his last 3 starts...is going deep into games, and has been as dominant as I have seen him since he signed. To get him as a dog against a mediocre opponent he has owned in the past almost makes me hard.
Mariners +112 (Washburn) vs Drays - 2 Units
Battle of two similar lefties...but Kazmir has been a little inconsistant, and a little wild (6 walks, 109 pitches over ONLY 4 innings last start)...and you WANT to get to the TB bullpen! M's also hit lefties very well.
Nationals +153 (Chico) vs Reds - 1 Unit
Nats have sure been getting alot of value lately for a team that isn't playing too poorly...nice line here going against the equally bad Reds who throw journeyman Saarloos into the rotation out of the pen with a 5 ERA. Chico pitching decent as of late coming off 3 quality starts in a row. No reason this shouldn't be a pick'em.
Twins -170 (Santana) vs Rangers - 3 Units
Johan not receiving much help lately, but is still his dominant self, and I'll back him to get a much needed win today on a number unusually under -200. Twins should be able to get the 3 runs of Loe that Johan needs.
Indians -155 (Carmona) vs Royals - 3.5 Units
I'll eat some juice here as well with the Central's best facing the worst. Carmona might be the best young righthander in the AL so far this year, and Odalis is bound to blow up against this great Tribe lineup after pitching well of late...he is anything but consistant.
Pirates +123 (Duke) vs Cards - 1 Unit
Why is STL still getting all these fav lines? They might be the best fade all year (well, except for NYY), beacuse they are the champs, but are a very different team this year with no pitching and slumping, over the hill sluggers...even Albert is off to a slow start. Still we get a fairly big dog line facing the brutal Wainwright with a decent lefty in Duke facing the Cards who cannot hit lefties worth a **** (.224).
Enjoy the games... :beerbang:
