10 weeks of missing races has finally caught up with Michael Waltrip. NAPA officials annouced today that they have pulled sponsership of Michael Waltrips #55 car.
"Its a sad day for the #55 car, the team, for Michael Waltrip Racing, and for Michael Waltrip", said Micael Waltrip. "We will do everything we can to obtain sponsership for the rest of the season and do everything we can to insure that we are making the show in as many races as we can for the rest of 2007. Michael Waltrip Racing will survive!"
In regard to where NAPA's sponsership money will go, a un-named spokesman said that they where in the final stages of securing a deal with a car that is "MUCH faster then Michael Waltrip's #55 car"
Word has it that a deal between NAPA and NASCAR will be annouced from Charlotte on Friday for NAPA to sponser the NASCAR PACE CAR for the rest of the season.Leave a comment:
