Recap: 1-0
Record: 15-12
Review: Last play was White Over 14' points.
He scored 19.
Tonight I'm going back to a situational spot that I used in my article on April 12. Here are some key points from that article, regarding the Celtics performance in their previous game against the Magic:
Boston’s team total was 99′.
They scored 76.
They put up their lowest-scoring output of the year.
The Celtics take more 3-point attempts per game than any other team in the league. In Orlando, Boston was 7-40 overall on threes.
They hit just seven of FORTY!!!
That’s 17%.
They live and die by the three. In the Orlando game, they died by it.
And so tonight’s bet is a simple one for me.
There’s no way Boston will play that poorly again.
I’m looking for them to show some Celtic pride after putting up their lowest number of the season and get back on track offensively in front of their home crowd.
I’m taking their team total Over.
My recommended play was Boston Team Total Over 116'.
They scored 130.
Tonight they're in a similar spot.
They're coming off a game where they went 15-60 on three pointers. THEY MISSED FORTY-FIVE!!!
The 15-60 is 25%, almost as bad as the 17% they shot in Orlando.
And just like they came back in the next game after the Orlando debacle I expect them to come back strong tonight.
In their four regular season games versus New York, the Celtics scored:
132, 131, 118 and 107 (the 107 game ended with 19 points scored but 12 came in OT.) Three of four of those games came in higher than the number I need tonight.
After blowing the lead in the series opener Boston will play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder tonight.
And they can't possibly shoot any worse.
I expect the Celtics to put up at least two quarters of 30+, which means I'll only need about 24 in the other two quarters.
Bos Team Total Ov 111', -111
Update/correction: Went to buy it, got 111 at Bovada
Will use 111' here because that's what I originally posted.
