NBA & WNBA Friday May 16

    NBA recap: 2-0
    Record: 18-14

Review: Won both plays last time in, took Indy with the points and the Nesmith prop Over.

    NBA

    I don't like the position I'm in going into tonight's Bos/NY game.
I have an open bet on the series, Boston -120.
It's followed the script I thought it would (Celtics needing to win in game 6 to bring it back home to lock it up in game 7) but that Knicks win in game 4 has me wishing I didn't take the Celtics in the series.

Not because they have to win to two straight, like I said, I thought they'd be needing a win on the road in game six, but I'm questioning if Boston really is the better team as I previously thought.

Yes they have the deeper bench, but here's the thing of it - in the NBA, only the fourth quarter really matters. The fourth quarter is crunch time, it's when the money is on the table, and so far in this series the Knicks have shown far more heart and the ability to close than the Celtics.

It's very rare that I buy off of a play but if the line tonight was the same as the last game in New York I'd grab the Knicks and the +4/5 pts. With the Knicks as -2' Favs I can't play them cuz if they win by 1 or 2 points I'll lose the game and the series bet.
I like them at home tonight but can't bet it, just have to ride out my series play.

    WNBA

Thank God the WNBA starts tonight. Call me weird (or worse) but I really do enjoy betting and watching it more than the NBA.

I gave out two Regular Season Wins plays in my homepage article from earlier this week and later this morning I have a new article with a pick for today's games and some stats to consider if anyone's looking for edges.

I'll definitely have at least one more play, still crunching numbers.
It's opening day and I feel like opening it up a little bit with some action wagers.

I'll post a reply in this thread with whatever I end up buying.

Update: I can only find one book that has a decent amount of props on tonight's WNBA. Most have none. Disgraceful.
I wanted to use a prop on Dallas rookie Bueker but can't find a book that will offer a line. Pussie Boys.
May not have a second play to add, still looking but don't want to force something.

Good luck to any of you are trying to beat the WNBA with me this season...

    Forgot to mention.

From my NBA handicapping models, both WF (Wrong Fav) systems say New York is the Wrong Fav tonight.

Postseason records on Rd teams like Boston tonight:

WF1 is 5-1 (6-1? I thought it was 5-1 going into Indiana Tuesday night. I'll have to check my charts.)

    WF2 is 3-4

When I get a match, when both say the same WF the record is just 1-1.

Also, the game qualifies for an Over in the system that's 23-20 on Overs with a postseason subcategory that's now 18-9.

With a great stat like that how come I'm not playing it tonight?

Because both games qualified Wednesday, and so did Thursday's game, and so did Monday's game between NY and Boston.
And for some reason I didn't I didn't play any of them!
(And yes, I am kicking myself in the ass for it.)
This puts me in that spot where I feel like if I jump on it now I'll lose. Silly super(stupid)stitions.
