okay so i only bet on about 3 games last cause i was in 4 fantasy football leagues and couldnt keep up. im back!

      had some more questions...

what is a good amount of $$ to start off as?
im a college student, so $$ isnt too easily dispatchable, i dont wanna start too low or too high.
      thinking $240 then doing $10 = 1 unit.
was gonna do 3 games a week... so that gives me 8 weeks of play at least.

what site should i start off on..

      any thoughts?

You can find a list of sportsbook on the main page of the website with different details about them...

I personally use 5dimes, BetUS and Bodog..

As far as how much you want to bet that is totally up to you..

yea there are a lot of good sponsors here. Some take credit cards or even can deposit right from your checking account. As far as money per bet, $10 or $15 is good if you got $240. Try to stay disciplined and dont bet too much of your $240 on one game, thats how you lose it all. If you continue with your $10 or $15 it will make it awfully hard to lose all of that if you stay disciplined. BetED is not bad by the way if you are looking to deposit quickly, however there are a bunch of books like 5dimes and betus that are pretty quality. Bodog is pretty popular too if you like underdogs.

yeah i was reading the betting 101 and it said to only bet 2%/3% of my stash... lol

would it be wiser to bet on only 2 games a week or 3?

i have no experience betting over a long period of time i just doit on a few games here and there, and i want some opinions from u guys since u have experienced betting for long periods. this will be my first NFL season betting for consecutive weeks

right now my plan is to go 3 games a week and hope to hit 2 and lose one so i come out on top a little. but if i lose all 3 im poo outta luck.

But if you're only betting a fraction of your bankroll, you'll be ok:thumbs:

You start off by wagering on 2-3 games per week, get drunk Saturday and bet 2-3 games per hour.

Hitting 2 out of 3 is no problem. Just check the posting records of almost everybody on this site. A sixty seven percent winning percentage is quite common!

If i'm reading this correctly, you have $240 to start?

If so, you should be betting about $5 bucks per game. $10 absolute maximum.

If you try betting 3 games a week and putting 1/3 of your money on each one hoping to go 2-1 each time, you'll probably be broke by week 3 or 4, if not before cause first time you go 0-3, it's see ya....and that happens to ALL of us.

Not to mention if you go 1-2 (and that will obviously happen) your bank will drop by about 70% in one week, and either you'll try to dump the remaining money on one play to double up and get you back in the game, or your bets will be as small as they originally should have been anyway, except with a much smaller bank to work with now.

It's far more fun to bet 1 to 2% of your total bank and be able to hang in there for the whole season.

Think of it this way, no, you're not gonna win a ton of money betting 5 of 10 bucks a game, but you won't lose it all by week 2 or 3 either....but you'll get entertainment out of it by rooting for your plays to win, and you will learn valuable information that you can only get from experience in this game, so when you do get more money to work with and your bets get larger, you will have a much better idea how to win.

I know all of this, because i learned this the hard way....betting a hundred and or two a game with a thousand dollar or so bankroll (10 to 20% per play) many many years ago when i first started, looking to cash in fast, only to lose almost all of it, and have my bets reduced to next to nothing, and take forever to build it back up to even before i could even think about profiting.

Unfortunately i believe most, of not all of us have been there at one time or another....and that's not a place I EVER want to go back to.

you are already down to $60?

You made statements that made yourself believe that you are disciplined?

                        You already failed!

Do some research, and bet the balance of the bank on 1 game!

If you win, get more disciplined! If you lose, GIVE IT UP! :beer2:
