  • Super Bowl Future: NFC +14.5?!

Not sure what other books have something simular, but Bodog is giving a 14.5 line to the NFC in the Super Bowl. I won't argue that the AFC champ will be better than the NFC champ, but a 14.5 pt spread is stunning in a game so big.

I'm dropping some quick cash on it, but just thought it would be something interesting to discuss.

    27-17-1, +14*
    CFB (16-11-0)
    NFL (7-5-1)
    MLB (3-1)
    NHL (1-0)

    Go Canes!
    Go Dolphins!
    Go Heat!
    Go Marlins!

Betting that you are basically betting that NE won't make the Super Bowl and Dallas will(or NE will and Dallas will).

Exactly. Plus, New England can beat Dallas by more than 2 TD's anyway. They already handled them in Dallas with little problem.

If NE reaches the Super Bowl and are undefeated the line will be -14.5 (prob more) no matter who they play, IMHO. If you like the NFC, then don't bet that and wait.

It's 14.5 against Buffalo...no way it's more than that against the NFC champ in the Super Bowl...no way in hell....

-14.5???? Where you getting 14.5 for Sunday? Is that a JoePa college football line from Tuesday? :dunno:

Sportsbook has it at -16 right now, and by the time kick-off comes around, it will probably by over 17 (is my guess). And it's a straight roadie against a division foe with a winning record (albeit a ****ty team). There's NO WAY you are getting NE in the Super Bowl for under 2 TD's. They were 5.5/6 point faves against the second best team in the league (Colts) on the road, don't forget. Plus, by then public perception of their greatness (And truth of it) will be out of control.

            Just my two pennies though...

Its gonna be Dallas at NE and I dont think the line is going to be 14.5 with the Cowboys the opponent. They are a public team and will get a lot of action. But I guess I can see Romo choking again in the playoffs.
                NCAAF: 50-39-5 (+6.35 units)
                NFL: 36-35-6 (-2.00 units)
                NHL: 4-8-0 (-2.80 units)
                NCAAB: 7-4 (+1.75 units)

Cuse....NE was -14.5 -113 at pinnacle most of the week...I bought it at -14 -126 on Wednesday...documented in the discussion thread. It's -15 now at Pinny I think.

If Dallas wins out, going 16-1...winning convincingly in the playoffs....they'll be getting over 2 TDs in the Super Bowl? That would be insane, IMO. If they do get 16 points, I will put my whole seasons winnings on them, I know that much. lol. OK maybe not...but I'd be grabbing the points...

I was joking, I knew your line was prob from earlier in the week as is your usual way of playing your pubs. And now, for the record, they are already -16.5 on sportsbook and it's still 8 hours until game time.
