COL +1000 is a solid bet i think to win the west. Dont really see anyone below that winning it this year. Isn't it funny to see the jump between NAS and STL. Vegas must really see a dividing line between the teams they see as good and those they perceive as pure shiattt.....not much in between apparently in the West

Best long shot in the East is FLA. If Vokoun plays well this year (and that is a big if) they will win their fair share of games. They need to correct their special team road woes though, if they are going to even make it. How are you 3rd on the PP at home and 26th on the road??? Freeking arenas are the same size, not like the old days. Other than that i do have to say that if Toskala proves that it wasn't just a good defense in front of him in SAN and that he really is the real deal, i think TOR is live. Their D and bonehead plays cost them every year, but they sure have the weapons on O, and if Toskala can bail out the occassional (or often) boneheaded D move or stupid penalty, they may be in great shape.

      Sharks or Flames!!!!!

San Jose gave up some really solid players to Toronto, but they should still have it in them. Toronto, I don' know...Im a Maple Leafs fan, but this year is not the year.

      I like Calgary this year.

Bolded are the teams I think have the best "value".

And how is Philly ranked 7th?? Did they clone Bernie Parent, Tim Kerr and Reggie Leach when I wasn't looking?? I know they got a couple decent additions, and I like their moves, but sorry they are a bubble playoff contender, not a serious cup winner to be ranked that high.

          I don't believe my eyes...

Toskala's looked horrible in the preseason....hopefully it's just that. It's tough for guys to come into Toronto when they've played their whole career in a non-hockey market, and all of a sudden they have 20-30 reporters in the room for a Tuesday morning practice. it affected Raycroft and Kubina last year, and hopefully it doesn't affect Toskala. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see raycroft bounce back this year...

one other thing, not sure if anyone feels the same way but they really need to do something about the schedule imbalance in the West. Look at the odds above and then compare DET schedule which has what 10 games against 3 of the worst 6 teams in the league. Then you look at the Northwest division which has 4 of the top 8 teams in the West by odds. I think they need to quit making the schedule so division happy and add some interconference games or have DET vs. VAN, CAL etc... a few more times. But that is just my 2 cents.
