NHL 3 Way lines and European Ice Hockey (Draw line quote) lines are played like in soccer, regulation time only, overtime not included. Since you're only playing RT, regulation time, it is possible to bet the draw. The result after the 3rd period is what you are betting (Win, Lose, or Draw).

NHL 3 way and European Ice Hockey is settled without overtime (60 minutes of play only) for the main quote (Away/Home/Draw/Total). This option does NOT include overtime or a shootout.

Bookmaker (and Diamond (DSI)) offers 3 different types of lines for Hockey: The Canadian Line, 3-Way Option, and Straight Money Lines. Usually 5Dimes also has NHL 3 Way lines.

3Way or 1X2 are the exact same thing, two different notations though. 1 means home team, X means draw or tie, means away team. It is widely used on totobola ("soccer parlay cards") where you have to pick 14 or 15 winners SU.

Buffalo Sabres @ Atlanta Thrashers

I can't pass this play despite what seems a easy win for Buffalo. Buffalo is better on road than Atlanta at home, is 6-1 last 7 games, and Atlanta is struggling and passing a bad moment. However, I believe that Atlanta can manage this game with the moral they won in their last game, and leaded by Kovalchuk, I'm believe they can win this matchup, after they played earlier this month on Buffalo and Atlanta lost in OT, after firing the double of the shots.

Sabres are making remarkable season. They are coming from a loss at home, but they had a 6-0 run before it. On road, they scoring 2.50 goals per game, allowing only 2.33 goals per game. So, this team usually control the game on road containing opponents offense, and scoring goals enough to win, that are not much goals at all.

Atlanta had a bad moment, with 9 straight losses, including a 7 games roadtrip. After that, they are 2-1, losing 1-8 at home against Capitals. That result woke up Atlanta, and in their last game, they won 6-1. Atlanta is that kind of teams that can easily score, as they have a great offensive player that can score at any minute. But they can't make the right pressing on defense, allowing 3.20 goals per game, while scoring 3.30.

So, I can expect today Atlanta to be strong offensively, as they are earning moral and have abilities to it. After a 3-4 loss on OT in the first day of the year in Buffalo, where Atlanta controlled the game, today Atlanta will probably enter the game controlling it again, and with moral enough to score the goals they need. Sabres offensive is not so good, and when Sabres is a team that easily give up during the game.

We just have to believe in Flyers, as they are giving us money lately without fail. The believe that we are showing in Flyers is something that we owe them, and we can't give up suddenly.

If you read my writeups about Flyers lately, you know that Flyers are a great team that passed a bad period. But that is over, and the team was just waiting to see the results of their efforts and improvement showing up. And now, they are just harvesting the benefits of those work. Despite what we know, he just have to see that they are in a 8-2 run, scoring around 5.40 goals per game lately. They are giving heavy losses for the opponents.

Leafs are making the opposite "progress". They are 2-9 in their last 11 games, and are showing again the same weakness they showed earlier in the season. With 4 straight losses, this team is having again a letdown spot, without any confidence. Despite that, we should keep in mind that this is the most balanced team due to a great structure behind the team. They are allowing 3.80 goals per game, scoring only 2.00 goals per game.

Today we will see a team with a low moral hosting a hot team that don't make charity to anyone. In last 7 games, Leafs have lost 5 by 2 or more goals, showing how weak their defense is right now. For Leafs, Flyers is not the best team to host right now, as they need a win, but against a team so strong, it will be too hard.

This matchup is between the two most surprising teams this year. Everything can happen between these two teams, however we will have a edge on Coyotes side, because of the run to playoffs. Sabres are easily winning their division, by 10 points, and they already feel that their place to the playoffs is barely granted. Can be a mistake, however they are really dominating their division while Boston stills unreliable. Coyotes however, are trying to fight in their division, however they have to catch Sharks, who are leading by 9 points, and are one of the biggest contenders to Stanley. So, they just have to be as good as they can in order to grant a wildcard. In that is the league that Coyotes are playing right now.

Sabres on road pull up their defense in order to win their games, with their offense scoring just enough to ensure the win. They are scoring 2.45 goals per game while allowing 2.33 goals per game, giving them the edge of +0.12 goals per game. A tiny margin.

Coyotes are 18-7 at home (Sabres are 13-6 on road), and also try to make their defense their weapon. They are allowing 2.45 goals per game, and scoring 2.83 goals per game, and edge of +0.38, 3 times more than Sabres.

Today, we should take Coyotes. They are the team that wants more this win, and will fight more. Sabres will have another game tomorrow on road, and had made a big travel. We have to play a over here, a line of 5.5 is small for this matchup. After all, this matchup is between two teams that are below the 20th position in defensive matter. We could take Carolina also, however this matchup is very difficult to get and edge in one side, Hurricanes are playing better at home, but they will likely to have troubles to face a team like Tampa. And Tampa will have troubles also.

Tampa with 7-13 record on road, have won one in their last 3 road games, in New Jersey. It was a big win, but them they went to Florida and get shutdown by 5-2 as I expected. For this team, when they play at road, we can't expect at least 3 or 4 goals from the opponent team, as they are allowing an average of 3.48 goals per game. This shows that their defense is something very weak, as they make their gameplan a strong offensive game.

Hurricanes finally showed some improvement, specially at home. They try to get holes in their opponent defense in order to score their goals. They are a team that fight really hard for the games, and try their best to score. Their defense is "something" than can hold a team, but never for 3 periods. Their defense is mentally weak, and against big offensive teams, will likely allowing some goals, as they are allowing 3.17 goals per game at home.

So today we will have a matchup that will be win by that team that can score more goals. Bot defenses are bad, Tampa got great offensive players, and Hurricanes also have good offensive players, and if they haven't so many as Tampa, at least they have the will and their fans to match it.

We have to follow Rangers here, they are showing strong signs of improvement, and finally deserving a little bit of attention from bettors. With a matchup against a really struggling team on the road, it seems unlikely to see Rangers let this game run away of their hands.

Tampa is a bad road team. We can't deny it. And besides that, this team after a win, the most likely result is a defeat. This is because they can't carry on a good performance for two straight games, as their wins usually appears from individual talents. It's true that they can sometimes play a great game, outscoring strong teams of the league. But that is usually at home, and only happens if their offensive lines is with their best inspiration. Otherwise, if the offensive can't produce, the team can't win, as they can't manage a game in their defense, allowing more than 3 goals per game.

Rangers is another team that are showing some signs, and it seems that they are almost "cured" after a really bad period, where the team were playing as one man only and not 5. But when the team were playing well, they were a really strong team, able to give blow out losses for who ever face them.

Now that times are probably back, with the best scorer in the league (Gaborik), and facing today a weak defensive team, they will get here a big win. They are allowing only 1.80 goals per game, so expect Tampa to score few goals. Rangers are with some moral after a great win, and will probably manage it to keep the good performances.
