    PLAYER'S CHAMPIONSHIP -

ADAM SCOTT 12 /1 - He's got 3 Top 10s in 6 tries in The Players, T6 in 2007, T8 in 2005, and won the thing in 2004. What's not to like about his game? he's 7/7 in cuts in 2008, won the EDS Byron Nelson, T9 in the WGC CA, T8 last week at the Wachovia. He's also 2nd in scoring average @ 69.27, 6th in driving distance with 297.7 yards, his GIR in 68.25% for 28th, and in GIR from other than the fairway on tour he's 5th at 60%....he can just about hit the flat surface from anywhere except from the left rough where he ranks 193rd which dips his driving accuracy percentage to 59% when he gets loose....His low round this year is 63

JIM FURYK 20 / 1 - Jimbo is tied for 4th in Top 10s on the year with 10 in 12 events....that's unbelievable and he hasn't had a winner yet....just give him time! He's got a 2nd, 4 Top 10s, and 6 Top 25s with his best finishes a T2 at the WGC CA, T5 at the Mercedes, 4th at the Verizon, T7 in the Wachovia last week where he was very steady. He's 26th in scoring average with a 70.21, is 20th in driving accuracy @ 72%, is 30th in GIR @ 67.19%, is 17th on tour in round three average with 69.33. C'mon Jim, isn't it about time ya done something for me.....

BEN CURTIS 125 / 1 - Best Kent State golfer ever? And, he had a great weekend at the Wachovia last week finishing in 2nd 5 strokes back of Anthony Kim. His new swing has him making 7 of 10 cuts on tour this year. Ben is 35th in driving accuracy @ 67.86%, 73rd in scoring with a 70.83, 24th in putting with 1.763 average, but ranks in tie for 1st in 3-putt avoidance inside 5 feet on the PGA Tour.....now that's a stat! Curtis (‘00) shot 65 on Sunday to finish second at the Wachovia Classic in North Carolina, and took home $691,200 after an 11-under 277 (69-71-72-65). In Sunday’s final round the 2003 British Open champion birdied his first four holes and eagled 10 on his way to 32/33-65 for the second best round of the day. This is only the fourth time that Curtis has carded a final round in the 60s since a final-round 69 in the 2006 Canadian Open. He entered the week ranked No. 162 on the FedExCup points list, but earned 2,700 points via his runner-up finish and climbed up to No. 48. Curtis was third in Driving Accuracy at Quail Hollow Club and tied for 16th at hitting the green in regulation.

    MICHELOB ULTRA OPEN -

CRISTIE KERR 28 / 1 - Cristie has 4 Top 10s in 5 attempts in the Michelob with a T4 in 2006, Won it in 2005, T6 in 2004, and T2 in 2003 so she's got a pretty rich tradition here. She's 15th in scoring on tour @ 71.66, T10 in GIR with 69.7%, T4 in putting @ 1.75, 69% in driving accuracy, and had 2 Top 10s in 8 tour events in 2008....a second round 78 took her out of contention last week, but that won't happen again.

HEE WON HAN 33 / 1 - How about another golfer with a rich history in the Michelob...Han has 3 Top 10s in 4 tries with T2 in 2006, T4 in 2004, and T8 in 2003. She a very accurate driver with 74% accuracy, is 13th in GIR at 69%, 7th in scoring @ 70.93, T2nd in putting @ 1.74, and has 2 Tops in 10 outings this year. If she can keep her average down she can be a Lorena slayer as she's right on the cusp of things.

JEE YOUNG LEE 40 / 1 - She finished 9th last week in the SemGroup with her lowest four round total of the year @ 289. She's a perfect 2/2 in Top 10s in this event with a 2nd place finish in 2007 and T10 in 2006. Lee is 8th in driving distance at 269 yards, T5th in birdies, 2nd in eagles, but tends to be a little loose with the drive at times thus her 28th scoring position average of 72.06. A great young player with loads of uptick!
