    THE HP BYRON NELSON CLASSIC

CHARLIE HOFFMAN 9/2 TO FINISH TOP 5 - Hoffman has made the cut in all 12 of his starts this season and has garnered three top-10’s most recently a T9 at the Valero Texas Open just last week. Talk about a model of consistency....he's made 21 straight cuts and his mullet will be in the top five this week like him or not. He's also 2/3 in Top10s at the Byron Nelson with a T7th last year and T8th in 2006.

IAN POULTER 11/2 TO FINISH TOP 5 - Poulter has made more of a splash with his clubs this season than with his pants......making 6/7 cuts on the PGA Tour and finished in the top-20 every time out with his best a 2nd at The PLAYERS. He ranks high in scrambling and putts per green. Poulter is 1/2 in Top10 at the Byron Nelson with his best a T3rd in 2007 while he finished T35th last season. sHe's not flashy, well, his hair and pants are, but he has really stepped up this season despite my signature line quote from Tiger.

CHARLIE WI 8/1 TO FINISH TOP 5 - Wi finished T7th last year. He's 9/12 in cuts made this season and has a 2nd at the Zurich, T4th at the Transitions, T9th at the Honda, and a T14th at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He's currently 8th in putting average and 7th in all-around stats which means he's consistent. He ranks 10th in par 4 birdie average or better stats, and is 6th in par 4 performance on tour and 8th in par 5 performance. Wi's problem is the par 3s where he ranks 184th on tour. Being that the Byron Nelson has only two par 5s on the card he may be able to offset his abysmal showing on the shortest holes.
