  • JoePa's Wells Fargo Picks

The leaderboard has been full of surprises with the list of young upstarts climbing to the top! With the number of first time winners growing in the early season it's hard not to give them a second look and look past the veterans.

LEE WESTWOOD - 16/1 OUTRIGHT WIN - Westy has two Top 5 finishes at Quail Hollow over the last two seasons and is one of the hottest players in golf right now! He's coming off a 7-stroke win at the Malaysian Open last week and don't forget his 7th place finish at The Masters just a few short weeks ago......he's only a 4/1 bet for a Top 5 finish.

GARY WOODLAND - 9/1 TOP 5 FINISH - One of the longest hitters on tour who has made 10 consecutive cuts with 6 Top 20 finishes. He ranks 18th in GIR, 25th in bogey avoidance, T27th in par 4 scoring and T29th in par 5 scoring......all of which will be huge on the major style setup at Quail Hollow.

JASON KOKRAK - 10/1 TOP 5 FINISH - Another one of the longest hitters on tour who has a pair of Top 10s and 6 Top 20s on the young season. Kokrak ranks 39th in the FedEx Cup, 7th in driving distance, 10th in adjusted scoring, 24th in par breakers and 45th in scrambling.

BO VAN PELT - 14/1 TOP 5 FINISH - Bo knows Quail Hollow! He has 3 Top 6 finishes here with a T6th last year which was his only Top 10 finish in 2013. Last week Bo finished T25th in New Orleans despite carding a career tying low round of 63. Maybe hunting Quail is all he needs to bust a move this season.
