  • JoePa's The Players Championship Picks

After two straight weeks of no winners, got a Top 5 with J.B. Holmes winning the Wells Fargo last week. This week features golf's elite and a stacked field. Let's spin the wheel again.

LUKE DONALD - 22/1 OUTRIGHT WINNER - It's his first start since a runner up finish two weeks ago at the RBC Heritage. With his new swing, Luke has made 3 Top 10's in his last six tour starts, has 7 straight cuts made at The Players and Top 20 finishes in his last 3 appearances.

JIM FURYK - 28/1 OUTRIGHT WINNER - Great tour form with no worse than a T20th in his last 5 starts. He finished 2nd at Quail Hollow last week and has made 14/18 cuts at The Players with 8 Top 25s. The time is right....no value wagering a Top 5 finish as Furyk is just a 5/2 shot as is Donald.

KEVIN NA - 6/1 TOP 5 FINISH - Really like Na's form over the last several weeks and he has 6 Top25s in his last 8 starts making him a leaderboard lurker. He tied for T18th at the Wells Fargo last week, has a T3rd at TPC Sawgrass in 2009 and a T7th in 2012.

BRANDON DE JONGE - 15/1 TOP 5 FINISH - He embarrassingly opened the with a round of 80 at Quail Hollow last week, but fought back into contention and finished T6th. He grabbed a T15th at The Players last year.

MICHAEL THOMPSON - 25/1 TOP 5 FINISH - I always like to add a "best player you probably never heard of" pick and Thompson fits the bill. He's a chipping machine coming off a season best T11th last week at Quail Hollow, has 5 Top 25s, made 11/13 cuts this year, ranks 9th in strokes gained putting and is a respectable T61st in ball striking.
