  • JoePa's GREENBRIER CLASSIC Picks

Since its' inception in 2010 as a Tour event, I have loved watching this tournament on the Old White Course in Sulphur Springs, WV! It has really grown and attracted the top names on Tour. Last year's winner was Angel Cabrera....he really put the course at his mercy with the accuracy of a surgeon.

PAUL CASEY 20/1 TO WIN OUTRIGHT & 4/1 TOP 5 FINISH - Casey seemed at ease last week, laughing his way down the 18th and having his wife and young son with him in the club house waiting for a playoff with Bubba---one he eventually lost at TPC River Highlands in his debut at the Travelers. It was his second playoff loss this season. Ranks 6th in GIR and 10th in adjusted scoring.

BILL HAAS 11/2 TOP 5 FINISH - Is he wearing a mask or something? He has to be playing incognito this season because he sits 21st in the FedEx standings, 22nd on Tour in putting 15-25', has three Top 10s and five Top 25s in 15 starts this season. And, he's a perfect 4/4 at the Greenbrier with two Top 10s---one of them a playoff loss in 2011.

KEVIN KISNER 11/2 TOP 5 FINISH - He's been so close over the last two months with two runner-up finishes (RBC Heritage & The Players)and three straight Top 12 finishes. Is this the week he breaks through to the winner's circle. In his last three starts he's finished 5th at the Crowne Plaza, T8th at the Memorial and T12th at the U.S. Open. He might be 0/3 at the Greenbrier, BUT, and you know there is always one of those, he's made 7/7 straight cuts with 5 Top 12s and 24 rounds in red numbers! Recent form to trump course form!?

GRAHAM DELAET 11/2 TOP 5 FINISH - That 4th place finish at the Travelers had to be a bitter pill to swallow for the Canadian last week. But, the bright spot was that he carded 4 rounds in red numbers there and it was his season's best finish since a T8th at the Northern Trust Open. His last 12 rounds on Tour have garnered 10 in red numbers! He T12th here in 2012, is 41st in GIR, 32nd in driving distance, 17th in ball striking.

CHRIS STROUD 12/1 TOP 5 FINISH - T10th last week at the Travelers where he has enjoyed repeated success. He's made 3/4 cuts at the Greenbrier with two Top 10s and a T18th to show for his successes. His recent form earned his first Top 10 on the season with a T10th at the Traveler's last week.
