  • JoePa's TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP Picks

Last go around before I delve deeper into college football for the season. East Lake is the site and with just 30 golfers in the field there are a lot of short odds on the favorites this week.

JASON DAY 10/3 OUTRIGHT WIN - What's not been already said about the world's new number one player, besides no one saw this coming as hot as Rory and Jordan were earlier in the season. Fresh off his runaway victory at the BMW, Day has four wins in his last six Tour starts and finished T6th at East Lake in 2011 and T4th in 2014!

RORY MCILROY 13/2 OUTRIGHT WIN - I hate short odds because it forces you to bet against yourself! Rory finished T4th at the BMW last week which may be a sign of his return to form because he ranked 4th in both total driving and GIR there. He T2nd at East Lake in 2014!

RICKIE FOWLER 9/4 TOP 4 FINISH - He won the Deutsche Bank two weeks ago and followed that up with a T4th last week at Conway Farms. He leads the playoff field in one-putt percentage and is 15th in GIR. Finished a solo 8th here in 2014.

JUSTIN ROSE 9/4 TOP 4 FINISH - All Rosie has done lately is finish no worse than solo 6th at East Lake (2013) in his last three starts here. It's his sixth straight appearance at East Lake and he comes off a T13th at the BMW which is his sixth Top 20 in his last seven Tour starts.

HIDEKI MATSUYAMA 6/1 TOP 4 FINISH - Comes off a T7th last week at the BMW which is his third straight Top 25 finish in playoff events. Ranks third in birdies or better and 7th in adjusted scoring during the playoffs. Maybe he's baaaaacccckkkk!
