i was stating their NATIONAL experience before becoming president what does leading us into WWII while being president have anything to do with his national experience prior to becoming president

let me add a few more presidents that had less national experience then obama does right now when taking office

1. Abraham Lincoln served 8 years in the Illinois legislature and one term in the U.S. House (1847-1849), a decade before becoming President. The rest of the time he was a lawyer in private practice

2. How about FDR who spent 4 yrs as a governor and 2 years in the NYS legislature before becoming president

3. how about Woodrow Wilson spent 2 years as governor of the state of NJ

and how about an example of a president who had a ton of national experience

1. James Buchanan who had 10+ years of experience in both the house and the senate you wouldn't rank him in your top 10 presidents of all time?

- George H.W. Bush: 8 years V.P., 4 years Congress, 6 years misc. Administration positions - more

- Jimmy Carter: 4 years governor, 4 years state Senate - comparable
- Gerald Ford: 1 year VP, 24 years in Congress (including 9 as Minority Leader) - more experience
- Richard Nixon: 8 years VP, 2 years Senate, 4 years Congress - more experience
- Lyndon Johnson: 2 years VP, 12 years Senate, 12 years Congress - more experience
- John Kennedy: 8 years Senate, 6 years Congress - more experience
- Dwight Eisenhower: No elected office experience, though some folks would argue that commanding the winning side of the largest war in history *might* count as relevant experience.


Obama is THE LEAST EXPERIENCED presidential candidate ever!!

8 years Illinois State Senate; 2 years in U.S. Senate (but spent less than 1 year there before began campaigning full-time)

Obama was only elected to the U.S. Senate because his opponent dropped out of the election due to a scandal. Obama sits on NO important Senate comittees; has NEVER drafted (or even helped to draft) any legislation; usually voted "present" the few times he did appear in the Senate chamber; has absolutely NO administrative experience in either the private or public sectors.

People say that Obama has "enthusiasm" and "vision" . THAT is what they said about Jimmy Carter and he almsot destroyed the nation, with inflation running at 16% per year and college loans available at 21% per year interest (if you could get them at all). Carter also said he was for "CHANGE:, but people failed to ask, "What kind of change, specifically?" And, "How do you specifically intend to implement that change?"

And my point was why is she less qualified than Obama...who is closer than a heartbeat from the seat as he is the nominee?It is kind of a wrap around argument....that you seem to be missing the boat on. She is every bit as qualified if not more than he is. He may be better talking his way out of a paper bag, but that is about it. 1. the post above was stating that if McCain put "country first" like he preaches to be then the first presidential decision being the pick of your VP should put "country first" and not your agenda and desire to be president first, as its quite obvious to anyone this lady can't talk her way out of a paper bag and was picked to attempt to pick up the disgruntled Hillary women and not because of her qualifications to be the second most powerful person in the world, and a heartbeat away from the most powerful person in the world

can i ask one question if he cared about the usa and tried to do the right thing for this country and not further his burning desire to be president, don't you think his first major decision being the selection of a VP would have been better done instead of picking some women who is completely a slap in the face to the American intelligence? especially with the fact hes 72 and has had cancer 4 times now and knowing his selection at VP could very well be the president in the next 4 years
