First of all, I have gone on the record many times stating that USC and Oregon were very good teams, among the best in the nation.... 2 teams doesnt make a conference though.... Pac-10 has improved greatly, but i still see them as the ACC of the 1990's.... 1 dominant elite team (Pac-10 has USC, ACC of the 90's had Florida state) and 1 revolving team that is supposed to challenge the top dog every year.... but usually comes up just short by 1 game or so.... and then the rest are pretenders that are exposed as the year goes on.

been saying the same thing for some time, but no one wants to listen.... people get so hung up on the wins and losses... but they are unimportant really.... any good team can beat any better team on any given saturday.... but if you WATCH the games.... you SEE the difference... the talent differential is undeniable....

Flyers also has a good point, the SEC gets a ton of exposure by playing good weather games and also having CBS own their TV rights. I dont think the PAC-10's deal with the Fox Sports is really paying off...

actually, after re-reading this thread... I REALLY disagree with your comments FF... .

:dunno: .......not sure what real comments i made other than the fact that the media gave OSU **** the entire time they were #1, and they did......sorry skins, i sat there and listened to Mark May day in and day out crap on them.......they even made a joke when ESPN gave the D a helmet sticker that he was doing so grudgingly. Chris Fowler wasn't on board and herbstriet gave him **** about it on a number of occassions. Corso was luke warm on them. Landry and his gang on Fox radio on the weekend evening show gave them no love. I listened to it all with my own ears skins. I guess i must have a hearing problem......:dunno:

as far as the rest of the big10, i don't know.


As far as watching games and the talent disparity. I think it's pretty obvious the SEC has the best talent because they have the most speed and speed wins these days. I also think it's a product of playing games in 70 degree weather and up most of the time. Once again, you can't compare who has what talent because conditions dictate where players go. SEC plays most of their games in perfect weather. But yes, the SEC has the best talent....i don't think anyone has ever said they don't. But they don't necessarily have the best skill, they have the most speed and that is #1 these days.
