thanks for the writeup bro! Pretty much my initial thoughts as to why I took A&M. this will be my third week in a row to take them lol, 1st against OSU (yeh FF i did it again lol), was a tie, and last week by all rights I really felt they could have won SU. Going again with them here with some confidence.
I won't be able to make it this season, but thanks for the invite :beer2:
You'll just have to drink my share when you're watching two QBs throw to the other side the whole game lol

copied what I posted on the SC thread but here is my take on aTm this weekend.
Q I jumped on them at 3 early on, altho at -115. This is a game they HAVE TO WIN. I think they win by 14 plus. With that said which ******* JJ shows up?? the 65-70% passing JJ and 5 TD's or the 40-50% comp JJ with 4 TD's and 5 TO's?? Thats the question.
The thing that pisses me off is Tannehill should have come in the 3rd qtr the last 3 games. One game sherman lucked out and we came back against FIU, we lost close ones to OSU and arkysaw. Sherman seems to have put all his stock in JJ and is either going to sink and fail or look like a smart MF'er at the end of the season.
Personally I think something is wrong with JJ shoulder and that coupled with the new throwing motion has JJ in a ****ed up mental state QB wise atm.
I wish Tannehill would come in if JJ ****s up but sherman seems unwilling to do so.
With the improved play of our D coupled with being at home, and mizzou not really playing naybody yet, I think Mizzou has 2 good OL and 2 that suck. I'm laying the 3 and taking the home team.
I try not to use maroon colored glasses and have bet against aTm twice this year. This one I think we win and cover. GL!!
and Q if you comeback to this thread...
You coming to college station this year for the game?? Have many beers with your name on them if so!

as for Mizzou/TXAM........my real question is who has mizzou played to get the love they seem to be getting in this game?? If you look at the game last weekend in Colorado, the final score is very deceiving. I like A/M to bounce back this week.Leave a comment:

mlehhhhhhhhhhh........getting worried about this one as the days go by. Tressel is 8-0 L8 as chalk of 7 or less which i think speaks to his ability to get teams ready for these types of games. Wisconsin for whatever reason seems to give the buckeyes troubles and OSU has always struggled to score @ Wisky. Wisky actually severely outstatted OSU in Cbus last year in OSU's 31-13 win, but OSU had like a punt return and 2 INT returns for TD's. The year before Pryor drove them down the field with 3 to go to win 20-17 @ Wisky.
OSU is more talented than Wisky and Pryor is the best player on the field, that i don't think is debatable. These 2 teams also have by far the worst special teams in the big10 so you never know about punt/kick returns for TD's, blocked FG's etc......
I just don't know why not to expect another close game. Seems they just end up playing out that way. Gun to my head Buckeyes find a way to get it done. They are faster and have more talent and that is the difference in the end.Leave a comment:

there you go FF lolits fishy on both ends!
Kentucky was a fishy line last week against Auburn, but they almost won that game.
So I think that is reflected here + the books either expecting everyone to eat this tasty line after SC took out Bama, when there's a letdown factor.
I took Kentucky again, hope that home dog barks again. If their O neutralizes SC's stout D, they could keep it close.
Bigbag or anyone with intimate knowledge/thoughts of the Mizzou/Aggies matchup care to chime in?Leave a comment:

We have the chart!
We use the chart w/ the kids on Sunday!!!
There's a point in the game when you throw the chart a way and show class!
Really hope the Bucks are up on Wisky, and St. Jim takes a knee late, shows Bielema how it's done!
Go Bucks!Leave a comment:

I agree. I just don't see MSU blowing out Illinois hereAnd who exactly has msu played? An overhyped Michigan squad? Western Michigan, Florida Atlantic, nd, northern Colorado, and Wisconsin. I backed them against Wisconsin and Michigan. They may cover but it's not exactly a great spot or unjustified line.
Illinois as up 13-3 on mizzou at half and lost 23-13. Respectable showing. Beating psu by 20 in happy valley is no easy feat either. And you mention psu being down, but what does that matter?Leave a comment:

Ohio -16.5 should destroy Akron this week! The Zips lost last week at Kent 28-17, had 5 turnovers (two for TDs as Kent recovered a fumble in the endzone and ran an INT back 11 yards for another), and had just 62 yards rushing, and 133 yards passing which didn't break the 200 yard of total offense mark. The Bobcats destroyed BGSU last week 49-25 in Athens and ran thru the Falcons D for 231 yards on the ground. Akron is last in MAC scoring offense at 16.8ppg, 11th in scoring defense giving up 37.5ppg, 12th in passing offense at 136ypg, last in passing defense at 265.5ypg, 9th in rushing offense at 116ypg, 11th in defense giving up 429ypg, and 13th in total offense gaining just 242ypg. The Bobcats are 4th in total defense, 5th in scoring defense and 5th in total offense in the MAC. OU is also 1st in Red Zone Offense scoring on 17 of 19 chances for 89.5% conversion rate, while Akron is LAST in Red Zone Defense giving up scores on 93% of their opponents opportunities or on 25 of 27 attempts.
Toledo -3 is a great consideration this week also. Night games in the Glass Bowl are tough, and the Rockets got bounced by Boise on the Smurf Turf last week committing 5 TOs. UT outgained Wyoming two weeks ago at home 374-266 and lost 20-15, and they do have three road wins on the season winning at Ohio, Purdue and Western Michigan. They could easily be 4-2 on the season instead of 3-3 with losses at Arizona, Boise and home vs. Wyoming. Kent is a team that has a good defense but their offense is pitiful. Last week against cellar dweller Akron, I love saying that, Kent managed just 75 passing yard and 261 yards of total offense and even though they were beneficiaries of 5 Akron TOs they got a late defensive TD to seal the win. Kent State (2-3, 1-1 MAC) ranks No. 1 in total defense in the league (284.2 yards per game) and No. 1 in the country in rushing defense (59.6). The Golden Flashes have the No. 1 scoring defense (20.8 points) and the No. 1 overall defense (284.2 yards per game) in the MAC, not to mention the No. 1 rushing defense in the country (59.6). Senior linebacker Cobrani Mixon leads the team and is fourth in the MAC with 48 tackles, while freshman defensive lineman Roosevelt Nix leads the MAC with 6.5 sacks. The offense is another story......which is ranked 12th in Total Offense (11th in rushing at 81ypg, and 7th in passing).
The KSU game is one of four home games left for UT so the Rockets have a chance to put themselves in a very favorable position with a win. Toledo ranks No. 3 in rushing defense (114.0) and tied for second with 14 sacks. The health of their offense this week lies with QB Austin Dantin who left the Boise State game early in the fourth quarter with a possible concussion and neck strain. Dantin finished the game 13-of-18 for 167 yards. He ranks 8th in Total Offense with 184 yard rushing and 830 yards passing and 66% completions, is very elusive and knows how to avoid the rush which is probably his most valuable asset. His status for the Kent State game has not been determined. Redshirt freshman QB Terrance Owens split time with Dantin vs. Boise, entering the game for the first time in Toledo's third possession of the first quarter. He finished the game 8-of-11 for 55 yards. A healthy Dantin is key for the Rockets.Last edited by joepa66; 10-13-2010, 04:16 PM.Leave a comment:
