If your going to wager one time your best change is the banker in Baccarat!!!!!!!!!
The rules of play in Baccarat have been carefully constructed to produce a small, yet measurable advantage for the house for both player and banker bets, and a steep jump in advantage for tie bets. Complex calculations are used to determine that the banker will win 50.68% of all non-tie hands and the player 49.32%. Using 100 credits worth of bets against these percentages shows that you can expect to lose 50.68 and win 49.32. The difference between the two is 1.36, hence a 1.36 house edge against the "player" bet.
So why then, you might ask, does the banker bet offer no real house advantage if it wins more than half of the time at 50.68%? Well, casinos are definitely wise to this. If they allowed the game to be played while giving up an edge to players, they would go bankrupt. Casinos have taken this odds discrepancy into account, and made adjustments to tilt the advantage back into their favor by way of a 5% commission on winning banker bets.
The banker bet odds can be calculated as follows: let's say you are wagering 100 credits. Taking into account the 5% commission on winning banker bets, you will win 0.95 for every one credit wagered. Expecting to win 50.68% of the time, multiply 0.95 by 50.68 and you get 48.15. You still can expect to lose 49.32, and the difference is 1.17, resulting in a 1.17% house advantage.
Tie bets happen approximately 9.55% of the time, meaning the true odds of a tie bet are 9.47 to 1. Dividing 9.55 into 100 gives us 10.47 and taking into account the fact that you will receive your original wager back, the proper odds are 9.47 to 1. So, winning a tie bet should have you winding up with 10.47 credits, but instead you wind up with 9. Dividing the difference, 1.47, into 10.47 gives the house a 14.4% advantage. You might be tempted by the 8 to 1 payout, but the odds on this bet are unfavorable compared to the banker and player bets. Logic dictates that despite the 5% commission attached to winning the banker bet, it still offers the most favorable odds in baccarat, and over time you can expect to lose less by utilizing this option.
Advice Appreciated

I'd say don't do it if you have kids.
The gambling life isn't fair to families and when it's all said and done family is all you have.
Vegas is a city full of walking zombies. It takes a real straight arrow to be able to not succumb to all the distractions etc.
With all due respect to everybody's opinions, you should tap Snowman a little bit harder for his opinions on the matter. Snow is flat out a library of information on the topic, a guy that is a one in a million and knows the ins and outs of doing such.Leave a comment:

:beerbang: I agree, bases suck, but the action & the $$$$ rocks! Started bases mid may this year and aleady +3000... definitely not enough to support my everyday life, but if this kid wants to go and "bust a nut", for a week or two, I am all for it!:beerbang: Just like any vacation to a casino, with MUCH better odds! Doin' it for a living? Wouldn't even think about it until, I was old and gray...:drunk:I never thought of it that way billy!
man I guess after 7 years doing this (not 7 successful years LOL), I kinda take for granted the high the action gives me, cuz it took me 5.5 years to figure out, the extra money is nice, but that I dont do this for the extra money....more of the challenge.
I dunno if anyone else feels this way, but thats the way I feel, and this alone got me interested in baseball to be honest, cuz before this I didnt give baseball the time of day. (i still think its too slow a sport for me LOL)

I never thought of it that way billy!I have a good friend who moved out to vegas and now lives right off the strip! He is good at what he does and fires when the right game lines up! He hit a 7 teamer that paid 35K at bodog one year! I talked to him on and off and the last I heard he was burnt out and just focusing on work and investing! He has some strong system that he uses but like I said he is burnt out now!
I wish you the best of luck, but once you choose to make gambling a living it is no longer fun. It is now a job and the bottom line is you have to produce week after week and the grind will get the best of you!!!!

If it aint broke , don't try to fix it
Is my opinion..
You do well , i think you should be satisfied with your success and not look to get greedy. Not saying that you would or you couldn't succeed at other ventures, but by the sounds of it ( and by seeing your results myself first hand with your plays and your contest record ) I think you should continue the success and stay the course . GOOD LUCK WITH WHATEVER YOU DO V3 ..
Your a good dude and I wish you the best.Leave a comment:

I'm going to take your word for it. It no longer becomes action I guess, I can understand that. You know, that will probably deter me more than anything. I imagined that it would be the life you know. Just because I enjoy playing everyday, but I guess if you do it all day everyday and rely on it to eat, it no longer becomes fun. Great feedback everyone. Thanks. I may still make a run for kicks, but I will have to double think the professional aspect of it.Leave a comment:

I tried horses once. Some drunk guy convinced me to play once. He said he worked at Santa Anita, etc. As soon as they hit the straights he goes "oh, the horse broke, we lost". What the hell, I had no clue what he was talking about. I played some more, won money not even worth mentioning. Im glad to see u cashed out though, nice...I know a few friends that have done it and they do pretty good, but they say it takes all the fun out of gambling. I would say if you can get the time off do a test run and see how you like it. About three years ago I was thinking of doing the samething after I hit a Pick 6 in horse racing for a little over 60K. I did not want to do all the work professional gambler, so I just took 20K for my gambling bankroll and used the rest for taking my mom and dad on trips. I would say do what will make you happy.
Ya, do what makes you happy, that's true. Thanks man...Leave a comment:
