How Romney's Departure Equals Victory for Paul
Jake Morphonios
Thursday, February 7, 2008
The only way that Ron Paul could have won the Republican nomination was for sufficient numbers of convention delegates to be split between McCain and Romney on the first ballot. Such a split, which would have resulted in no clear winner, would have resulted in a second ballot. On the second ballot delegates would be free to vote their consciences. Ron Paul's "brokered convention" plan was to win as many of these delegates as possible and steal the nomination away. However, the odds were slim that Romney delegates would turn around and cast their votes for Paul over Romney.
But all that has changed!
Today Mitt Romney dropped out of the race. He had hundreds of delegates committed to him. Many of these delegates are now free to vote for an alternate candidate. Does anyone really believe that Romney's supporters want to vote for McCain after the savage attacks that McCentury levied on Romney? They will be looking for a Conservative alternative to McCain. Right now that means either Huckabee (if he can keep going) and Paul.
We are back in play!
Many of you will have questions on how a brokered convention works, how to lobby delegates for Ron Paul, etc. For excellent information on these issues, I recommend that you go to Ron Paul 2008 — Hope for America and sign up to become a Precinct Leader. You can then access various training videos, including one entitled: "John Tate explains caucuses and conventions". Now is the time for action.
Naysayers and pessimists did not win the American Revolution. Our noble forefathers did not scurry home to lick their wounds after each disheartening defeat at the muskets of the redcoats. They did not throw up a white flag or whine about how they couldn't win. They kept fighting.
I call upon YOU to stay the course.
Keep fighting for the right to be secure in your property and privacy. Keep fighting for the right to assemble and rally without government interference. Keep fighting for the security of your spouses and children. Stand up for liberty. Fight for Ron Paul.
We stand at an historic juncture in the journey of our nation. In this moment of reflection we must ask, as did Patrick Henry so long ago, "Is life so sweet, or peace so dear as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?"
May you all be endowed with a second wind and the courage to fight on!
and if you believe that i have some great beach front property in nebraska for ya BB........
the republican party is going to take advantage of the situation and close ranks around McCain and begin the onslaught against the democrats while they are still fighting each other. Ron Paul isnt' getting the nomination end of story. Solid fight i will give him that.Leave a comment:

I just can not explain any of this!!!! Where I live, in a 30 mile radius there are about 15-20 Ron Paul signs. No other candidate has a sign up! Now where the **** did McCain come from!!!! WTF is going on here. I mean I don't know one person who voted for McCain. Just got off the phone with a friend that lives north of me and he could not believe all the supporters for Ron Paul! Just makes me sick........... It just makes you wounder are we really Free!!!! Being controlled is not Freedom!!!! Ah forgetaboutit I give up!!!!
From all the reports I read America is tired of GB Jr. Yet they are voting for his puppet in droves! To ****en Funny:laughing:
John McCain
Voted for use of military force in Iraq. Supported Bush veto of war spending bill that would have withdrawn most U.S. troops by March 2008. Was an early proponent of sending additional American troops to Iraq
So we know he is for war! Since he VETO This bill down!
John McCain
Would lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent. Would allow first-year deduction of equipment and technology investments and establish a permanent research and development tax credit equal to 10 percent of wages spent on R&D.
We know he is for Tax Relief for Corporate America
John McCain
Co-sponsored Bush-backed immigration reform legislation, which would have increased funding and improved border security technology, improved enforcement of existing laws, and provided a legal path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants.
Well looks like we he is for Amnesty to illegal aliens...

Today is Super Tuesday!
You know...I don't normally get involved in political discussion and for good reason. However I just wanted to share what happened to me over the weekend as I was finializing who I was going to vote for this morning.
After reading through what seems like tons of stuff I had deceided on Sunday that my vote this moring at this Missouri Primary was going to be on the democrat ticket for Barack Obama. Now mind you I am a 34 year old male and a registered republican...but Missouri is an "open" state and in the primary you can vote on either ticket you choose.
So way the Obama vote? Well my Republican canidate is Ron Paul. After reading all the stuff I have read it has come to my attention that my Ron Paul vote is a waste of time. I mean he can't get the nomination. There is no way he can win the Republican Nomination based on all I have read/seen/heard. So instead I will take the democarat ticket and "make a difference" by voting for Obama over Clinton.
Over the course of Monday Night and Tuesday Morning my mind changed. You know what....I can't fall for letting the media and stuff I read all over cnn.com and foxnews.com etc deceide who I am going to vote for. "Ron Paul would be a great candidate, but like someone already said, he won't win" -- does anyone here have a crystal ball? Or shall we just vote for who the media tells us to? I mean the Patriots are going to win the Superbowl right?
While Rich Romney's busy emptying his pockets, trying to buy his way into the White House, and Insane McCain is putting his foot in his mouth, talking about 100 years of war and bombing Iran and running out of money, Ron Paul is quietly and busily gathering up delegates.
In Maine, he now has more delegates than McCain and is close on Romney's foot heels. The good doctor is simply quite brilliant and knows exactly what he's doing. Paul still has months to gather his supporters into a real force to contend with.
Just as you should not overestimate whom the media calls "winners" (haven't we learned by now? Guiliani? Thompson? Huck next?) never, EVER underestimate the dark horse who came out of nowhere. If anything, he's the little engine that could and don't be surprised when he does. Kinda like the Giants winning the Superbowl.
So this morning...at the Missouri Primary....I PROUDLY took a republican ticket and voted for Ron Paul.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedRon Paul actually makes the most sense of them all. The politically correct nonsense alot of these candidates give us is so sickening.Leave a comment:

I get that and agree, but all the talk about Guiliani didn't do **** for him. It's a shame that the media and money are what elects the president and not the popular vote. Romney is only there cause of his wallet. I could go on, but everyone knows the deal... Sucks.Leave a comment:

When the media is run by political agendas it is very hard to get an unbiased look at politics. My point is the Media will not talk about him! Why... they talk about Giuliani in every primary when he has no chance! Ahh Great Will just get McCain in there to go head to head with Hilary than. The Chosen one has already been selected you and I can not do anything about it so I guess will just climb back in our holes. !Leave a comment:
