I'm one of the biggest Falcons fan this side of hell. Also a big Vick fan. I could have forgave him for alot of ****, but this ain't one of em. I have done such a reverse that I hope he does time. It was said best on espn radio. You go to a movie at a theatre and in the movie a bunch of people get killed and nobody cries, but a dog gets killed and everybody cries. Damn right, baby! I'm almost thru with all professional sports anyways and this just gives me one more excuse! The NFL, NBA and MLB are jokes and it's sad because each of these organizations inhabit many talented and respected athletes! But it's the ****s like Vick, Pac Man, Bonds, Iverson that absolutely ruin it for the rest! It makes me sick to see these individuals get paid vast amounts of money for being talented in a sport! It's America and its hunger for sensationalism! We need to quit paying for our so called "heroes" and look up to the ones who deserve it!

I am new here. I have quit betting for awhile because it has taken control of me and I either quit now or may end up using my cats to start a cat fight league to get my money back. Maybe I should let Mr. Vick take care of the bets for me.


We should send all our comments to the NFL. I don't know how good will that do when some players are getting suspended and Vick is still a go for training camp.

I make just enough to support my family. Mr. Vick and the rest of you low life NFL players are setting a bad example for the kids and society, you should give all your salary back to the league and let them donate to charities.

You don't know how lucky you are and here I am living pay cheque to pay cheque, making a honest living and watching you millionaires screw up for the love of the game and football, not just the NFL.

Are you serious? He and his friends hung, electrocuted, and slammed dogs heads off the ground until they died. It makes me ill to even type that, nevermind think about it being done to innocent dogs.

Not only are they ignorant savages for advertising their dog fighting kennels and naming it something that easily implicates them in it's happenings, but they committed countless acts of animal cruelty, and even took it as far as being murderers.

It's a bit disturbing IMHO that there are people out there such as yourself who still back Vick after all this evidence and even an indictment has been relayed to the public.

What's sad for the ATL is that they dumped Schaub, a guy that would have been more than an ample backup replacement.

Vick is done. Can you imagine how roasted this guy will get if he plays on the road? There'll be freaks with stuffed dogs hanging on noose's all over the place.

Its not healthy for the NFL if this guy doesnt get booted from the league. If he does indeed start the season, I'd LOVE to be at his first road game. Dude is gonna hear it non stop. (and deservedly so)

NFL should bench Vick now



It took no courage for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to give Pacman Jones, Chris Henry and Tank Johnson the lengthy suspensions they deserved for disgracing the NFL on a regular basis.

Henry and Johnson were hardly household names, and Jones' notorious off-the-field escapades made him an easy target because the court of public opinion wanted him punished.

It will take courage and conviction to suspend Michael Vick, one of the league's stars.

But if we're going to take Goodell's tough stance on player conduct seriously, that's exactly what the commissioner must do after federal authorities handed out an 19-page indictment Tuesday that charged Vick with competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

Next Thursday – the day Vick and the other three defendants will appear in district court in Richmond – Goodell must inform the 27-year-old quarterback he's not playing this season.

It's that simple.

Otherwise, he's just been giving us lip service regarding his personal conduct policy. This is the litmus test for how badly Goodell wants to improve the NFL's image. See, the policy has never been simply about punishing players who are convicted of criminal acts whether they involve drugs and alcohol, assault or domestic violence.

It has always been about more.

It's about restoring the NFL's image and bringing honor to the league. Goodell has no tolerance for incidents that put every player, coach and employee under scrutiny.

Since he was named commissioner prior to the 2006 season, Goodell has made improving the league's image a priority. He met with Gene Upshaw, executive director of the NFLPA, and created a six-man board of players to discuss conduct and discipline.

"It's important that the NFL be represented consistently by outstanding people as well as great football players, coaches and staff," Goodell said in a statement this year. "We hold ourselves to higher standards of responsible conduct because of what it means to part of the National Football League."

Jones, suspended for the 2007 season, faced Goodell's wrath because he has more arrests (10) than interceptions (4). Henry as been arrested four times since he was drafted in 2005, and Johnson served a four-month sentence after the Super Bowl for violating his probation related to a gun charge.

Still, few have brought more negative attention to the league than Vick in the last couple of years whether he was being sued for giving a woman herpes – AKA the Ron Mexico saga – being detained at an airport for having a water bottle with a false compartment or giving fans the finger after a home game last season.

Now, he must confront charges of being involved with dogfighting.

It's easy to suspend role players and starters who operate in anonymity, but Vick is an NFL superstar – a poster child for the excitement and athleticism you can find in the NFL.


Falcons quarterback Michael Vick could face up to six years in prison if convicted on dogfighting charges. The Falcons are done without him. Their entire team is built around his skills, and they traded his backup, promising Matt Schaub, in the off-season.

Too bad.

The other 52 players, coaches, scouts and front-office personnel must pay for his transgressions. It's not fair, but that's life.

Besides, Vick and Goodell talked about the quarterback's involvement with dogfighting in April, and he reportedly denied any and all involvement. It appears Vick lied.

So if a federal grand jury thinks Vick is involved enough to hand down an indictment, Goodell should feel free to hand down his own version of justice. If convicted, Vick and the others could face up to six years in prison, $350,000 in fines and restitution.

The indictment contains vile allegations, including specifics about how Vick and the other defendants allegedly killed dogs that lost fights. Whether you're a dog lover or not, it's really difficult to believe a person could do such vicious things to man's best friend.

I've never been to a dogfight, but a few years ago, I watched a dogfighting DVD at a friend of a friend's house. I didn't last more than 10 minutes. The gore and violence was too much.

The Humane Society already has spoken out against Vick. Who knows what groups will picket the Georgia Dome and every other stadium where the Falcons are scheduled to play this season.

And we haven't even talked about the endorsements he's going to lose now that he has been indicted.

This is not about whether Vick is innocent or guilty because he has enough money to buy the best lawyers. And we all know the government must prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. I've seen enough episodes of Law & Order to know that doesn't always happen.

But Goodell should start the punishment phase by taking away his right to play in 2007.
