They are the ones that buy the season pass and high dollar seats. Plus they know Doc's history with the team under Coach Don. I personally think he would be a good coach. It's not up to me. That is why they said to day they are still looking. They take Doc Holiday they go a step down. They take a shot at Terry that's a step down. See Doc Holiday interviewed for the Marshall job I never did figure out why they did not hire him at Marshall it was not about money or nothing. Yes Doc is a great recruiter but hell when your out and about recruiting for the SEC you got no problems talking some good player in to going to FLA he's got a large pool to pick from. When you recruit for WVU you got a tough time other than to say you will start next year after we sit you out your first year. Back in Coach Don's days the team was full of Notre Dame rejects. They would go to ND one year screw up and then Lou Holtz would call Coach Don and pass them off on him. They got to find somebody like Coach Rod who can go out and talk them in to WVU being the best school for them. I will give him that much credit he could recruit. But still Slaton is a reject from MD. Pat White reject from Pittsburg. They had other schools in mind and something happened and Coach Rod was there to pick up the pieces. Noel Devine grades where not good enough and Coach Rod got him help to pass. Couple years back Coach Rod went after Ohio player of the year. He could not even write his own name, they where going to help him pass, and he screwed up and is still in jail. That is why nobody would touch him because he was not very smart but he could run.

When ever they land somebody good we all look at each other and say Wonder what's wrong with him. He's got some kind of something wrong somewhere.

I hope Coach Rod does well at Mich. He's got no problem recruiting anyone now.

    I don't get it. :dunno:

I also don't believe for a second that he got a cheerleader pregnant, yet no one knew about it, and that she wouldn't have an abortion with all the money he could throw at her. To me that makes little sense whatsoever.

    It was pictures of her.

    Email to charleston newspapers.

I am a current member of the cheerleading squad and i can comment on this one. Rod got a past cheerleader pregnant and the school covered Rod's ass and paid her hush money and money to raise the child comfortably! True story!

This letter was wrote back in the fall right before football season started. At first the newspaper dismissed it as fan hate mail or just plain harmful rumor. Now they are finding out it's true. But I dont think they are going to release it. The Charleston Newpaper Group are not a sleeze tabloid.

    But here is another one

coach rod is not leaving for the money…..rita wanted to get his ass out of morgantown after he had a long affair with a wvu cheerleader….do they have cheerleaders in michigan???

JMO....did coach Rod leave over the 200K (and it would have been picked up by the boosters, since now 6-8 key boosters are threatening to pull promised money) or did he leave due to the internal issues between him and the administration? Coach Rod showed he could recruit and win...and the loss to PItt was devastating...but he had them in contention near the end. Those high roller "boosters", according to recent press accounts, are furious over the handling of this situation by the administration. He wasn't asking for more money for himself, he was asking for a pitance compared to the general overall program takein. But, he is gone, and now PSU/Big 10 (or 11, who's counting) will have him to worry about in the near future (and the spread O). Does Couch Doc Holliday revive the Earp brothers to be his assistants? This is just a mess Queen. Now we'll see. IMO, he did well for WVU, and he was no different than any other high profile college coach today. :beerbang:

    Here is what they said:

Douglas’ message, of course, was aimed at keeping support for the university in light of the statements by Kendrick and others that they would no longer support the school. Goodwin’s take was to more or less chastise those who believe their contributions give them a say in policy.

“At the end of the day, the university is governed by its board and its president, and the people they appoint to positions of responsibility,’’ Goodwin said. “Making donations to a public university does not entitle anyone to dictate policy or personnel.’’

I always thought it was funny that some rich guy that went to WVU thinks he has a say so on how things are run. They have not mismanaged his money he gave to the college. I think he's just trying to get out of what he promised. JMO

    Queen--

I agree with you that Rodriguez didn't really elevate your program. Basically you were the 4th best team in the big east, and the top 3 left. Rodriguez then filled in the gaps with a bunch of patsies, and voila--a team that has a chance to go undefeated every year.

I disagree on Bowden though--down here in SEC country, no one would want that guy. He basically took Pat Dye's players and did well with them the first year, with everything being downhill after that. Add to that he's been out of coaching since the 90's and that seems like a very UN-sexy hire.

Yea, I read some of that stuff, and heard the rumors. You don't need to dig it up, bud. It just amazes me how a guy can wind up leaving over $200,000 (or thereabouts) when universities piss away that much money for breakfast each morning. Not to mention, boosters pay it anyway for sports stuff. Ha.
