Get yer potato chips, potato stew, and potato pie ready; Boise State is hosting Air Force in a preview of the RONCO Set it and forget it Bowl; for all teams ineligible for post-season play! This matchup certainly makes the palate sweat as Boise State comes in with a 1 game winning streak beating Tennessee-Martin (named after Yankee Mgr. Billy Martin) soundly 63-14! Air Force needs to check their flight suits after getting drilled at home by Utah State 52-20 last week. Air Force always brings a huge rushing attack wherever they go; except for this year. Be ready for the triple option offense from the Falcons that really has 1 single option—a 2 yard gain! The Mountain West Conference has always been exciting and were all waiting for the Conference to be exciting in 2013. Lets look closer at this matchup and try to find a winner!

Air Force opened with Colgate (the school; not the company) and found a Laydown win beating the Toothpasters 38-13 in front of hundreds of screaming fans in Colorado Springs. The Falcons piled up 409 yards rushing against the Gate forcing many Colgate players to change majors at halftime. Disillusioned with damaged self-esteem, Colgate came out in the 2nd half as Existentialists seeing only a relative butt-whooping with some Gate players claiming victory! In the end, the Ivy-Leaguers gave way and accepted the 38-13 defeat as a product of an unenlightened sports populace. Air Force is not good. Colgate wouldnt make a good Scout Team at the NAIA Division level and Air Force got kerplunked last Saturday by a real teamUtah State. Against Utah State, Air Force gained 162 yards on the ground while running the Wishbone offense about as poorly as any team can. Air Force went to their passing offense after the game was already decided going 4-12 for 61 yards. Meanwhile, Utah State spackled the Air Force defense for almost 600 yards of total offense adding 360 through the air. Air Force is 0-5 ATS in their last five overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five on the road. Again, Air Force is not a good football teambut they have a cool building called the Air Force Academy Chapel created by Walter Netsch (even though its outdated and a tad bit frivolous!). Lets look at Boise State!

Boise State isnt quite as dominant thus far this year as in past campaigns. Boise State began their football tour getting man-handled by upstart Washington which isnt altogether bad. UW has a pretty good team in 2013 and Boise State is not considered a cupcake on the Husky schedule. With all that said, Boise State suffered the worst defeat in Head Coach Chris Petersons career at Boise. Was this beating an anomaly for Boise State? No, not really, Peterson usually has his team prepared for every game with high attention to detail. Perhaps it was turnovers causing the Broncos collapse in Seattle? Nope, the turnover margin was even (1-1) and the game really was more of a rout than a smooth and steady destruction. Peterson is a brilliant, capable, and steady Head Coach and fixing this blemish on his record will be paramount to Peterson and his Staff. One thing about Peterson: Peterson has had multiple opportunities to change programs and move up the coaching ranksala Brian Tell em what they want to hear Kelly, Bobby Now, which one is the brake handle and which one is the clutch honey? Petrino, and Houston Were gonna text like its 3012 tonight Nutt (Justin Bieber kickback)!! Peterson has been loyal and shown immense character staying at Boise State and WINNING at Boise State which should get anyones attention looking at any Boise State game after a bad loss. Peterson will get the offense and defense very focused for Air Force and the Flyboys better be ready for DEFCON 5 when they touch the blue turf that keeps on giving! The Tennessee-Martin game? Predictably bad for Martin, good for Boise, and a throw-out game like Air Force vs The Gate; no need to bother with either oneonly satirically!

Tims Pick to Cover the Point Spread: Boise State -23.5 (Should be -38!!!)
