Go Bowling at the Glen Race Picks

Race: Go Bowling at The Glen
Date: Sunday, August 10, 2025
Track: Watkins Glen International
Time: 2pm ET
Channel: USA

What Did We Learn From Last Weekend?

Keselowski almost had his first win of the season at Iowa, but late race cautions threw things off, leading to William Byron winning by the skin of his teeth and running on fumes, literally. He managed to pull out a victory well over a second over second-place Chase Briscoe. Keselowski won both the first and second stages, but Byron’s ability to save fuel and handle the numerous caution laps led him to his second victory of the 2025 season.

Where Are We Headed This Weekend?

This weekend, the drivers and teams are heading to Watkins Glen for another road course race. They’ll fight hard around the 2.45-mile shorter track, excluding the boot from their course. This marks one of the six total road courses on the schedule for the 2025 season. Much like last weekend and true to road course fashion, drivers will be battling fuel mileage, especially if we run into any red flags or extended overtime situations. We’ll have to see how things play out this weekend and what type of strategy wins this race. Inevitably, many teams run many different strategies that impact the finish of this race.

Go Bowling at The Glen Picks

Let’s take a look at your potential winners heading into this weekend:

Winner: Chase Elliott (+1400)

Say what you want, but Elliott is the best out of the Hendrick drivers at this track and actually earned his first career Cup Series victory here. With 2 poles, 2 wins, and 170 laps led, Elliott is here to play.

Mid-Range Pick: Brad Keselowski (+12500)

Keselowski is desperately looking for a win. He was so close last weekend, and I really thought he was going to get it, but the cautions just killed his chances there at the end. Keselowski has the grit to get the win when he needs it, and this is one of his last shots in the regular season.

Dark Horse: Shane Van Gisbergen (+150)

I don’t know that it’s fair to call him a dark horse, but relative to the oval tracks, he’s phenomenal on the road and street courses. In fact, he’s won at Sonoma, Mexico City, and Chicago this year. He came in second last year here at Watkins Glen after a last-lap pass by Buescher. He’s looking to avenge that finish this weekend.

Here are your top 16 after Iowa:

  1. William Byron
  2. Chase Elliott
  3. Kyle Larson
  4. Denny Hamlin
  5. Christopher Bell
  6. Tyler Reddick
  7. Ryan Blaney
  8. Chase Briscoe
  9. Alex Bowman
  10. Bubba Wallace
  11. Chris Buescher
  12. Joey Logano
  13. Ryan Preece
  14. Ross Chastain
  15. Kyle Busch
  16. Ty Gibbs

Call me crazy, but Ryan Preece needs to be on your radar. This guy is making some waves and some moves. He passed Kyle Busch after Iowa and is becoming more confident by the week. For now, we have the Hendrick drivers owning the top 3 spots of the leader board, with Alex Bowman being the worst of the Hendrick garage in 9th spot. I think we’re going to continue to see some domination from the Hendrick group this weekend. Stay tuned to find out if they can add a 12th Watkins Glen victory to their trophy case!
