NBA Trade: Rumors are swirling out of Houston that the Rockets have traded Bonzi Wells and Mike James to the New Orleans Hornets for Bobby Jackson. Why the Hornets would want to pick up a locker room cancer like Wells is anybody’s guess. The Rockets must be giggling under their breath as adding Bobby Jackson gives them a solid veteran backup who can play the point and provide a spark off the bench. There are possibly other players/draft picks/cash involved in this deal. This is only a preliminary report. – 2/20

Player Movement: The Wizards and Grizzlies swapped stiffs as Washington sends what might be the worst player in the NBA (J. Collins) to the Grizz for perennial bust Stromile Swift. If somebody would give Swift minutes and IF he could stay healthy, he could easily be an 18 points, 9 boards and 2 blocks per game type of player but for some reason he has never put it together. In other news, Charlotte signed under-rated point guard Earl Boykins to a contract and there’s rumors swirling that the San Antonio Spurs are going to sign the recently waived Damon Bluntamire. – 2/1
Big Trade: The Los Angeles Lakers have traded for 7’0″ C/F Pau Gasol. He came fairly cheap too as the Lakers only had to pony up Jarvaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie who the team had just signed, Kwame Brown who the jury is still out on, the rights to Pau’s brother Marc Gasol and draft rights to Marc Gasol and the Lakers first round draft picks in 2008 and 2010 which should be middle of the road picks. – 2/1
