Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Props
by Badger of Predictem.com

Weve looked at some of the better Super Bowl XVL prop bets in regards to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so lets take a look at a few of the better prop bets when it comes to the Green Bay Packers.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Total Passing Attempts Aaron Rodgers (GB) Over/Under 33.5

Im pretty sure the Packers will have a hard time running the ball against the Steelers, everyone does. Rodgers is going to have to throw it to win it, and 34 attempts is nothing for him. Im taking the over of 33.5.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Total Rushing Yards Aaron Rodgers (GB)Over/Under 20.5

Rodgers does have great escape-ability in the pocket, but James Harrison, LaMarr Woodley and Lawrence Timmons can all run him down from behind. Hell have to read the blitz and throw over it, not run away from it. Im on the under of 20.5 yards.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Total Receptions Donald Driver (GB) Over/Under 3.5

Remember the first wager of over 33.5 attempts for Rodgers, well a bunch of those attempts will be quick hot-read throws to receivers in the slot to try and beat the blitz. Driver is the type of veteran receiver that will read those same hot-read spots with Rodgers and get a few more catches than normal. Im taking Driver for over 3.5.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Total Receiving Yards – Jordy Nelson (GB) Over/Under 39.5

SUPER BOWL XLV – Will Jordy Nelson (GB) score a TD in the game? Yes+175/No-215

These two are a tandem bet. Im a firm believer that at some point in the game Jordy Nelson will get behind either Ryan Clark or (more likely) Troy Polamalu for a touchdown. Just a gut feeling, so Im in for over 39.5 yards and also Yes on the TD at +175

SUPER BOWL XLV – Who will record more points in the game?
Shaun Suisham (PIT) K+ (-130)
Mason Crosby (GB) K- (EVEN)

This is my least favorite prop in the bunch, but follow my reasoning here. The Packers lack of a strong running game, combined with the Steelers run-stuffing defense, will end up causing the Packers to settle for a few field goals if they get down by the endzone because they wont be able to punch it in or do it with play-action. Crosby also has the stronger leg, so a few attempts from 40-plus if they dont get into the red zone is another chance at cashing this one. Ill take Crosby at – at even money.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Who will record more Tackles & Assists in the game?
Lawrence Timmons (PIT) LB -2 (-105)
A.J. Hawk (GB) LB+2 (-125)

This is another Green Bay Packer prop bet that could backfire, but Im going to take a chance. Due to the Packers injuries at linebacker A.J. Hawk is an every down linebacker again, not just in on nickel situations and passing downs. Plus, I expect the Steelers to run the ball more, which will give Hawk more opportunities for tackles too. Spot me 2 tackles and Ill still take Hawk at the extra juice of -125.

SUPER BOWL XLV – Player to score the first Green Bay TD in the game
Greg Jennings (GB) WR7/2
James Starks (GB) RB5/1
John Kuhn (GB) FB 13/2
Aaron Rodgers (GB) QB7/1
James Jones (GB) WR7/1
Donald Driver (GB) WR15/2
Jordy Nelson (GB) WR15/2
Brandon Jackson (GB) RB10/1
Andrew Quarless (GB) TE14/1
Donald Lee (GB) TE 15/1
Any Other Green Bay Player 17/2
No Green Bay TD Scored In The Game12/1

Im putting a lot of eggs in the same basket on these Packers prop bets, but Im going to ride my gut feeling all the way to the bank (either to claim my winnings or make another deposit!). I really like the matchup of Jordy Nelson in the slot against the Steelers safeties, and Im already in for his yardage and a TD in the game, so why not for the first touchdown as well. Nelson at 15/2 is my pick.
