NFL Trades: The Detroit Lions have acquired DT Corey Williams and a 2010 7th round pick from Cleveland in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2010 NFL draft. The SD Chargers have traded Antonio Cromartie to the NY Jets for a 2011 draft pick.

Vote of Confidence: The Carolina Panthers have made it clear that Matt Moore will be their starting QB for the upcoming season.

NFL Notes: NYJ RB Thomas Jones has refused to restructure his contract and the Jets have reportedly decided to let him go as a free agent. In other news, new ‘Skins coach Mike Shanahan has reportedly committed to Clinton Portis as the team’s starting RB for the 2010/2011 NFL season. Lastly, the Arizona Cardinals have let it be known that WR Anquan Boldin can be had for the right price. – 2/27

Huh? ESPN’s Adam Schefter is confident than the St. Louis Rams will select QB Sam Bradford with the 1st pick in the 2010 NFL draft. A bit surprising considering that defense studs like Ndamukong Suh don’t come along all too often. Then again, hey, it’s the fricken Rams. – 2/25

Eagles Cut RB: The Philadelphia Eagles have cut RB Brian Westbrook. Many thought that he was going to retire but he is apparently interested in continuing his career. Expect “somebody” to pick him up and use him as a part time back. – 2/23

LT Released: As expected, the San Diego Chargers have released RB LaDainian Tomlinson. L.T. still wants to play and has stated that his focus now is to get on an NFL team that has a chance to win the Super Bowl. – 2/22

Browns Axe WR: The Cleveland Browns wasted no time in releasing WR Donte’ Stallworth one day after his one year suspension had ended. – 2/8

Saints Win! Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints who beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 to win Super Bowl 44 and be crowned World Champions. – 2/7

Houston Signs Coach Long Term: The Texans have extended the contract of HC Gary Kubiak for three years. The move is probably well deserved as Kubiak has turned the team around to what should be a playoff contending team next season. – 2/2

Freeney to Play? Word out of Indy is that Colts DE Dwight Freeney is expected to play despite having a torn ligament. OUCH! We can’t imagine he’ll be very effective and question this move. – 2/1

Rest in Peace: Bears DE Gaines Adams died Sunday morning. The cause of death has been ruled a cardiac arrest due to an englarged heart. Adams is the all-time sack leader at Clemson University. – 1/18
