Auburn is looking to bounce back after a bad loss last week while South Carolina shoots to become bowl eligible when the teams meet for an SEC inter-divisional bout Saturday night in Columbia. The Tigers blew a huge early lead last week and lost to Mississippi State, and lost their starting quarterback in the process. The Gamecocks, meanwhile, are alternating wins and losses over the last two months.

Auburn is lined as a touchdown road favorite in this spot. How are we playing this game with our free college football betting pick?

Auburn-South Carolina Betting Odds

This week’s college football betting lines opened the Tigers as 10.5-point road favorites over the Gamecocks, with an over/under of right around 48. Early betting action then dropped that spread three points, to -7.5, and that total 3.5 points, to 44.5.

Auburn-South Carolina College Football Betting Preview

The Tigers are 6-4 on the season after blowing a big lead and losing at home to Mississippi State last week 43-34. Auburn scored touchdowns on its first four possessions of the game and led 28-3 late in the second quarter. But the Tigers then allowed the Bulldogs to go on an epic 40-0 run spanning the halves and lost outright as 6.5-point favorites.

Auburn got out-gained by MSU 487-483 and lost time of possession by a 35:25 split.

So the Tigers have now been out-gained by four of their last five opponents and out-rushed by three of their previous five foes.

Two weeks ago, Auburn scored just three points in a loss at Texas A&M, missing ATS as a 4.5-point dog.

At 3-3 in conference play, the Tigers are dead in the water in the SEC West race. With six wins overall and a game with Alabama next week, Auburn is now playing for a decent bowl bid.

The Gamecocks, meanwhile, are 5-5 on the season after suffering a letdown and losing at Missouri last week 31-28. South Carolina, a week after upsetting Florida 40-17, took a 7-0 lead three minutes into the game but trailed 17-14 at the half. The ‘Cocks then gave up the first 14 points of the second half to fall behind by three scores, got back to within three points with four minutes left but couldn’t get the ball back and lost as a one-point dog.

South Carolina got out-gained by Mizzou 438-250, out-rushed 258-57, and turned the ball over three times.

The Gamecocks are riding a roller coaster as of late, alternating wins and losses over the last seven weeks. Might they be primed for an upswing this week?

At 2-5 in conference play, South Carolina is also dead in the SEC, but at 5-5 overall, it needs one more win over its last two games – it hosts rival Clemson next week – to become bowl-eligible for the first time in three seasons.

Auburn-South Carolina Recent History

The Tigers actually out-gained the Gamecocks that day 481-297 but turned the ball over three times, leading directly to 21 South Carolina points.

We’re concerned about Auburn’s state of mind after blowing that big lead last week. Also, the Tigers are now without their No. 1 quarterback, and their defense has allowed 487, 411, and 463 yards over their previous three games. South Carolina, meanwhile, is really taking that week-to-week, up-and-down thing seriously and might be due for a reasonable effort this week. Also, the Gamecocks need a win to make a bowl. So we’re taking South Carolina here, plus the points. Question: Have you seen our special “College Kid Bonus?” It allows you to deposit $25 and get a 200% bonus! ($50 extra!)
