The Oregon Ducks continued to roll through the Pac 12 as they put up 45 points on Stanford this past weekend. Ducks QB Marcus Mariota proved once again why he is one the best overall players in all of college football. Mariota scored four touchdownstwo passing and two rushing to lead the Ducks in the victory. Oregons defense stopped the Cardinal running game and closed out the contest by shutting Stanford down completely in the better part of the second half. Utah, on the other hand, is coming off of a tough overtime loss at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. The Utes dropped the game 19-16 in what turned out to be a battle between the field goal kickers.
Although Utah is currently ranked No. 17 in the nation they will have to use their home field advantage and then some to tame the mighty Ducks. Oregon is as good as they have been in recent years and perhaps the hottest team right now with the way they are playing and winning convincingly over other top teams. The key to stopping the Ducks attack is of course to somehow stop Mariota. Mariota is really a triple threat as he can throw from the pocket, scramble and throw, and run too. Another factor in Oregons favor is their athletesthey are fast and it seems like all of them are go to players.
Utahs strength comes a lot from their RB Devontae Booker who has nearly 1000 yards rushing this season and had 146 yards on 37 carries against ASU but he never found the end zone. The Utes can be a tough team when they are on their game as they have beat quality programs this season with wins over USC and UCLA. Utah also beat Oregon State on the road in OT. There is a reason why the Utes are in the top 25, they have a talented team and are in every game. However, the Ducks may be too much for the Utes in this contest because Oregon is on cruise control right now. The Ducks appear to be positioning themselves for a deep run and a shot at the national title.

The early line has the Ducks favored by 9 points and on the road it is a fair assessment but I dont see the Ducks letting Utah play with them. Oregon is too solid at this point in the season and they will come into Utah and quiet the crowd early and often. Marcus Mariota will continue to pick apart the defense and burn the Utes both with his arm and his feet. Mariota is averaging 19.1 yards per pass attempt and has a TD pass in 35 straight games! The Ducks managed to put together long drives that both usually end in a TD and eat up clock although they also strike quickly at times it really depends on the situations but you can count on Oregon in this game to score 30 plus points or more against a suspect defense in Utah. The Ducks are 31-0 when they score 30 points or more and 0-4 when they dont score 30 points.
I like the Ducks in this game to cover the points and fly out of Utah with yet another convincing win. QB Marcus Mariota is too tough and talented for the Utes. Utah plays tough early but like the rest of Oregons victims, they too fall to who I believe will win the National Title this season. Oregon rolls the Utes and this game will be over by halftime. The Ducks roll on and look to make a statement out of Utah. The Utes will have to take care of their whip-lash from watching the Ducks speed all afternoon. Oregon beats Utah in this contest 56-19. Luck to ya.
