USC will be starting their world tour invading Hawaii for a late night start to their college football season. This double up game might be the most interesting matchup of the entire Division 1 first weekend! At first glance and taking into consideration the 49-10 mauling SC gave Hawaii in the Coliseum last year, Hawaii looks to be the same team everyone schedules letting recruits know a few Hawaii trips are in their future. Hawaii was absolutely a Horror Show on offense last year becoming the Prairie View A&M of the big boy division. Norm Chow-the potentially great Norm Chow-was named Head Coach in 2012 and promptly led Hawaii to one of the least prolific offensive seasons in Division 1 football history. In the off-season, Chow got a little help from Ohio State and transfer Taylor Graham who, like Taylors father and former Buckeye Kent Graham, has a Hose for an arm in a prototypical NFL body (65 235 lbs.). Graham will be the starting quarterback for the 2013 Warriors and that makes this matchup with SC very, very interesting indeed!

SC is overratedthat isnt news though; SC is ALWAYS overrated! In 2012, most College Football experts picked SC to be in the National Championship game. Honestly, SC had the horses last year to be in the BCS National Championship with one lingering albatross hanging from SCs neck; Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin has made 1 good choice concerning football the last 10 years that being; Dont draft JaMarcus Russell to the Raiders GM. Lane Kiffin is usually hired because Lane brings Monte Kiffin with him wherever he goes. Colleges and some Pro teams are/were in love with Monte Kiffin as a defensive guru. Lane rides the gravy-train and Viola!; a made for Head Coach being paid as defensive coordinator; until recently. Monte hacked up SCs defense so bad that SC wanted him out. Monte Kiffin is now with the Cowboys and Lane is left-probably as planned by AD Haden-nursing the Trojan program through the Pete Carroll induced sanctions by the NCAA. Lane Kiffin will tell a few untruths but he doesnt have the street sense to go Pete Carroll-ing on top of NCAA serious rules violations. Lane Kiffin is a horrible coach, personality (he doesn’t have one!), and has proven he will steal anybody from any position at any program (just ask Norm ChowKiffin tried to steal Chow from UCLA to be Kiffins Offensive Coordinator at SC!). Lane Kiffin took an extraordinarily explosive USC football team in 2012 and made that team very bland and ordinary. Nothing will change much in 2013: Lane Kiffin will see a predicted 10-2 USC team hovering around .500 at seasons end. Hawaii has a shot to keep this game very close! If Lane Kiffin is in-charge as much as he wishes to be, this Hawaii game might be the upset that shocks SC Nation off their Pete Carroll bought and paid for pedestals!

Hawaii was not good in 2012. USC was good in 2012 but their coach cost them 4 games. Hawaii, under 2nd year Norm Chow and transfer QB Taylor Graham does just enough to put Tommy Trojan on 24-hour Supervision. Hawaii gets it done as Lane Kiffin calls every wrong play that can possibly be called: just like when USC had the ball on NDs goal line in the last minutes of their showdown at the Coliseum last year. 1st and goal at the ND 2 yard-line8 snaps later for USC, zero points! Terrible play calling by Kiffin with Matt Barkley behind center! Now, Kiffin will have to get it done with Sophomore QB Max Wittek who, incidentally, has thrown a total of 2 passes for SC. See it and believe it, Norm Chow turns Hawaii around in 2013. Also, Norm Chow is tremendous with QBs. Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, and Matt Leinart all were taught and developed at the college level by Norm Chow!!

Tims Pick to Cover the Point Spread: Hawaii +22.5
