The White Sox continue to play bad baseball and have lost six games in a row and eight out of their last nine games. ChiSox starter Touki Toussaint hasn’t given up a ton of hits and hasn’t given up many homers, but has lacked command in allowing a whopping 22 bases on balls in only 31 innings. Cleveland is a team that will take a ton of pitchers, so this is trouble for the 27-year-old right hander. Interestingly, the Sox have lost seven out of the eight games Toussaint has pitched in this season.

The Guardians have now won three games in a row and six of their last nine contests. I really like that they’ve moved Andres Gimenez up into the two-spot in the batting order. This is a guy who can handle the stick, move runners over, lay down a bunt, has speed and some pop as well. He can hit to all fields too. I fully expect him to put up massive numbers batting in front of Jose Ramirez. If you play fantasy baseball and this guy is on your free agent wire or up for trade, grab him QUICK. He’s going to produce big-time if he stays in the two-hole. More importantly, I think the Guardians offense will now be more efficient, as Rosario was a bad fit and made the offense stagnant. The Guardians are hitting the ball well, scoring five or more runs in nine of their last eleven games. The Sox have scored four runs or less in five out of their last six games. with three of those games having scored three runs or less.

Lastly, at time of print, it looks like Curry will start for the Guardians in what could be a bullpen game. I like all of Cleveland’s pen, so I’m betting against the CWS regardless of who starts for Cleveland.
