Gerrit Cole changing leagues will give him a huge advantage as American League hitters won’t be familiar with him. At +280 odds to win the coveted Cy Young Award, that also leaves some meat on the bone to select another pitcher to pair up with him in case the injury bug hits or he struggles to adapt. NL Cy Young futures odds are a wide open race this season, especially if teams don’t play in their home parks. While Jacob deGrom has been lights out, his numbers may dip pitching away from Citi Field where he’s sported a filthy 2.41 ERA over the past three seasons. If he’s faced to pitch in Florida all season, who knows what can happen as he has a 4.00 ERA while playing in Marlins Park over the past three years.

Our office has opinions galore on NL MVP betting. This race is wide open, which means you need to either chase value or a the conservative angle of selecting a player on a winning team that you think has a shot get the spotlight, increasing his odds of winning the award.
