Wyoming Cowboys at the Poor Little Chippewas
College Football Pick
It was one of those, “You had to be there” kind of things, or you wouldn’t find it funny.
But it was hilarious if you were there.
I’m in Laughlin last October, hanging at the sportsbook watching my action.
There was a group of tourists, a couple of middle-aged guys hanging out watching the games too. One of them had BIG money on the Central Michigan Chippewas, who were getting beat up and making mistake after mistake, interceptions, fumbles etc.
And every time they would screw up, every time their opponent would score, the guys would mercilessly mock their friend who bet on Central Michigan, repeating a mantra over and over again, “Poor Little Chippewas.”
Like I said, I know it doesn’t read funny, you had to be there, but it was hilarious.
And I hope to be repeating that mantra today because my WF3 model says the Chippewas should be the Favorite in their game today against the Wyoming Cowboys.
Only three games have qualified this season for this spot, and the record is 1-2.
Early in the season, yes I know, not a lot of data, but 1-2 is a 67% Fade so I’m going to ride it today.
Jumping on already established streaks is not how you Beat your Book. Identifying a streak before it begins and getting on it early is how you come out of this game with a profit.
It’s the Mountain West vs the MAC, and the MW has a slight winning edge at 36-33, 52%.
Both teams are 1-1 SU, both teams are 0-2 ATS.
Wyoming is 0-1 SU on the Rd, Central Michigan is 1-0 ATS at Hm, slight edge to the Chippewas.
Wyoming’s lone win came against an FCS team but so did Central Michigan’s. The Chippewas barely survived Colgate, winning just 13-10.
And in their only game against an FBS opponent they lost 38-7 to New Mexico.
The game opened at Central Michigan -2 but Wyoming money has come in and moved it to Cowboys -1.
My play:
Wyoming -1
I just completed my Saturday morning handicapping update and unfortunately no FBS game’s qualified for the NP spot.
But I do have ELEVEN FCS spots to choose from, six Overs and five Unders.
The record for this play is 3-3, Ov is 1-0, Un is 2-3.
I’ll watch the morning games and if I see a few Unders lose I might Fade one later in the day. Check the PredictEm Forum for updates.
Record: 6-4
