SMU staggers onto Kyle Field after beating perennial 7 on 7 champion Montana State (they dont play 7 on 7!) after a fierce comeback by SMU erasing an 8 point deficit and winning 31-30. Texas A&M lost by a touchdown to maybe the greatest college team ever assembled-Alabama. Is this a mismatch? Well, a mismatch is wearing a striped shirt with plaid trousers, or you take on the United States Military by invading Kuwait. This game isnt a True mismatch. SMU vs Texas A&M is more like using a pig-littered puppet as spokesman in Middle East Peace negotiations. But, Its why they Play the Game! Lets look inside the chalk-lines to see who can cover this weekend.
One very big note: Montana State is no slouch! Montana State beat Monmouth the week before 42-24 in a pretty easy win. Who is Monmouth? Well, Monmouth is really nobody; but they have a great Fine Arts Program Ive heard!! Montana State also beat Colorado Mesa 26-0 after playing SMU! Okay, SMU pretty much stinks. SMU did play relatively well in week 1 against Texas Tech losing 41-23. SMU is led by Sr. QB and Texas transfer (bet Texas wants him back!!) Garrett Gilbert who totaled almost 400 yards passing against the Red Raiders. In the 1st two games, Gilbert has thrown for over 700 yards and stands 10th in the Nation in passing offense! SMUs defense is not doing very well as their 107th in the nation in total scoring against seems much too high playing Montana State in their 2nd game. Garrett is 3rd in the Nation in total offense averaging 393 yds/game. But that seems a little misleading factoring in Montana State as an opponent although; Texas Tech didnt really have an answer for SMUs passing game. Lets look at Texas A&M for some clarity.

A&M put up a great fight against Alabamaon Offense! The A&M defense has more holes in it than a pegboard! Bama ran over, around, and through the Aggies at will. Not to be outdone, Bama did the same thing passing the ball. But Johnny Goofball was Johnny Football and what an amazing athlete he is! Beyond being an incredible athlete, Manziel is an even better Player! Alabama is an EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD Team and Manziel did—pretty much—what he wanted to do; when he wanted to do it! If Manziels head is in this game against SMU, and Manziel plays mostly 3 quarters, SMU might give up 100 points this weekend. Texas A&M can run the ball as well. Manziel remains the centerpiece of the A&M living room. The question is: Will the Aggie DBs do enough to keep QB Gilbert from being effective?
Texas A&M is 67th in the nation in Pass Defense. SMU is 117th!!! SMU is 16th in Rushing Defense while Texas A&M is 115th. SMU cannot defend against what Manziel will bring with his running ability; Alabama couldnt manage it at all! SMU is 16th because every team they have played has lit SMUs secondary up through the air; SMUs opponents never ran against SMU because they didnt have to! This is a complete mismatchand no speech, imploring, sance, conjuring, jinx, demon spell, magic wand, or vision will keep the Aggies from getting into the end-zone early and often! SMU is gonna get smacked-down, beaten-up, humiliated, slapped, spanked, punished, and gangsta whipped like nobodys business! SMU may want to re-think scheduling cupcakesSMU IS a cupcake! Texas A&M is outrageously good on offense. The Aggies need to correct things on defense to be a National Championship Contender. This A&M team might be playing in the National Championship and a horrible rumbling should be heard from every SMU supporter this Saturday. Come 7 pm EST at Kyle Field, SMU will be preparing for the College Station Slaughter. Aggies roll BIG in this mismatch!
