My oh my how times have changed! Four or five weeks ago, no one was looking
at Tempe for the answer of how the Stanford Cardinal (the
color; not the bird) could manage making it to the BCS National Championship
Game. Now, this PAC12 shootout will decide who goes to the Rose Bowl (not

Stanford was erased from college footballs Top Prize in outrageous fashion
by losing to the 5-7 Utes (win out and you can leap 4 teams!) and bowing
their knee to Aeneas, Priam, and the rest of the USC Dardanian horde in
the Coliseum. Arizona State has been sneaky good by escaping
Sacramento State 55-0 and managing only 2 losses (except for the Wisconsin
winjus sayin!) one of which to the Cardinal (the color; not the bird)
by a count of never in the game (down 39-7 to Stanford at the end of 3).
Stanford takes on Arizona State for the Pac12 Championship in the low desert
for all the PAC 12 marbles! Lets take a look at this matchup!
The Stanford Cardinal (color/not bird) caught a break when ASU almost 1,000 yard RB Marion Grice is listed as OUT with a leg injury for the PAC 12 Champ. Game. Grices backup, D. J. Foster ran for 124 yards on 23 carries and 2 TDs leading ASU to a win over rival Arizona finishing ASUs perfect home record at 7-0 on the year. ASU puts up a TON of points 8th overall with a 43.3 points per game average. Stanford is 13th nationally in giving up points at only 19.0 points per game. After last weekends snooze fest against ND, I question Stanfords grit and commitment for the rest of the season. Arizona State looks focused and hard to beat at home sporting a 7-0 record at Sun Devil Stadium and, as the favorite, lets not forget the 5-0-1 ATS in the last six for the Devils?! The Sun Devils can get it done in the air ranking 25th nationally in passing yards. The Cardinal (ibid) sits 94th in the nation in passing but seem to, somehow, still get it done. Stanford is 24th in rushing yards while the Sun Devils sit peacefully at number 44. This is a pretty good matchup on paperbut, as usual, they play football on a field! Lets look at the spread numbers and try and pick a winner!
