Weve come to the final 70 for the FedEx Cup thingy and all of us are heading to Conway Farms GC near Chicago, Illinois. The inside scoop on this BMW Championship is: Cog Hill used to host the BMW. Architect Rees JonesThe Hatchet—chopped up Cog Hill so bad in a redesign leaving the Players voiced outrage. Leading the way was Phil Mickelson and Viola! The upper echelon Jensek family of Chicago offered Conway Farms as an alternative to seeing their Cog Hill Mona Lisa botoxed with breast implants! So it goes with the silver-spooners; in comes Tom Fazio promoting another faux links course in the hope that everyone buys the sizzle of Conway Farms. Henrik Stenson took the boys to the woodshed last week. The tragic character Sergio, like a bumbling Don Quixote directed by the late, great, Otto Preminger, wilted and dissolved into the shadow of Lee Westwood. This FedEx deal is so wacky, Steve Stricker has played 3 tournaments all year (and shanked on National TV!) and sits 8th in points??!!!!! Holy Lord! My buddy Lamb Chop works at Dicks Sporting Goods and thinks hes an alternate this weekend?! Lets see how this set of 4 tournaments intent on creating a Champion has any chance of developing a true winner.
Conway Farms is not a Links course. It is a target golf, point-and-fire, dartboard that has a little Love Grass spread around making Fazio the P.T. Barnum of the Golf Architect-ing Bidness! The rough will be up at Conway and you know what that meansTiger No Likey High Rough! Tiger is definitely a non sequitur at this pumpkin patch. When I think of Conway Farms, I think of summer sausage and cheeseglorious cheesemaybe it is the Holly Farms effect? This weekend, when you think of Conway Farms, think about Matt Kuchar, Jason Day, and Stenson going back-to-back. Not THEM going back-to-back, Stenson winning back-to-back! Adam Scott? Perhaps, but Ive always had a difficult time rooting for someone that is much better than me at just about everything. Or, it might be the 5 foot mallet Scott carries to every green. Im not sure if hes putting or divining water?! Theres something special about this tournament; something hideously special. Im not sure if it reminds me to cut the lawn, or proves to me theres a lot of green in the world, or that $7 hotdogs somehow can put a smile on an over-amped spectators face? The truth is there is much drama except for the force-fed giddiness from overzealous TV announcers that know very little about the game these guys are playing. Someone will winit wont be Kevin Stadlerso lets predict em for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Short Favorite: Matt Kuchar (22 Odds to 1 to Win)
Kuchar is a Gamer and needs no other motivation than to just win for himself and his family. Guys like that are always tough to beat.
Middle of the Road: Webb Simpson (35 Odds to 1 to Win)
I dont like SimpsonI think hes a bit of a Poserbut he is another grinder looking to put an explanation point on a pretty decent year.
Longshot: Ryan Moore (100 Odds to 1 to Win)
Im gambling Ryan Moore has put away the sewing kit and the fabrics (for his Hip New look that resembles a Bay of Pigs Invasion!!) and just play golf. If he can quit selling Metro-sexual destructivisms hell have a chance to win. My Lord! Moore should hire a body double for his outfits that is 20 lbs. lighter.

Tiger Woods vs. Henrik Stenson (our pick to win: Henrik Stenson)
Insanity versus heart here. Being the next to last tourney for the 2013 season, Woods has another aching body part needing reliefTell all the waitresses around Chicago it is Code Blue for Tiger!!
Phil Mickelson vs. Rory McIlroy (our pick to win: Rory McIlroy)
Rory—the worst Best young golfer of all time tastes again why he shouldnt have chosen to be outfitted in all Nike golf equipment. Mickelson takes McIlroy to the woodshed by breaking par.
